Best campaign to raise a...
sigshane
I want to start a Warrior. Which campaign is the best one to do that? I am not partial to any one of them in particular, but I want to start out and not get frustrated or bored too quickly.
Also, what are some suggestions for secondary professions; which would benefit me best for the early parts? I mean, once I get to certain points, I can change it, I know. But while I am still working toward that, I want to know which W/xx combinations have worked for you guys.
Thanks,
Shane
EDIT: I have all campaigns, and have finished all of them, as a Ranger. I do know Proph is kind of slow, especially right after Pre-Searing

How many times have you played each campaign? If you've never played any of them, start with Prophecies because it's the slowest. If you're comfortable with much faster and harder starts, choose one of the others. I just make my chars depending on looks; it's the only thing that makes a difference after the starting area.

I would start in Proph because you can get many skills for both your primary and secondary through doing the quests and you will not have to buy them later.
I would only recommend this if you have not done it before. I have taken 6 of my 11 toons from prophecies and even though I love it, the slowness of the process gets old for me now so I prefer factions because you can level very fast.
I also think a lot depends on your experience and whether you have all campaigns. I personally like faction better than nightfall and prefer not to start from there if I can help it. At this point I haven't started a new toon for over a year and don't plan too unless I really get bored so maybe my opinion is outdated. I think it really boils down to if you have a campaign preference.

While I personally have never tried it from the start, I would think that W/E would be a good choice in either Prophecies or Factions. Not so much in the beginning, but you can get Conjure Flame by the time you are level 10 (Lion's Arch and Seitung Harbor).
That would allow you to use either of the single-campaign builds in the warrior basics thread. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/w...t10326347.html Check in Post #5 for the builds. Although you might have to have your ranger cap some elites for your new warrior to learn with tomes.
My warrior started out as W/R in Prophecies. Now I seldom use any secondary skills and my pet never made it to level 20.

I would say start out NF to get heroes.

While Prophecies is kind of slow going at first, and it takes longer to get Xunlai chest access, it doesn't have the mind-numbing Sunspear|Kurzick|Luxon point grind that Factions and Nightfall have, so I guess there are pro's and con's for whatever decision I make.
I thank all for their suggestions and/or experiences in this thread.

Sorrowless
I'd have to say NF because you get heroes fairly quickly and it's fairly fast paced up to 20 apart from the Sunspear points.

Pick the campaign that has the face/skin/hair you like the best. Everything else can be altered later.

Depends very much on your game aims and needs.
If you don't mind slow character progression with access to the best storyline and a good range of skills then start in Prophesies.
If its vital to get to lvl 20 as fast as possible then choose Factions or Nightfall.
Access to Heroes then go Nightfall.
The other criteria is what secondary class you want to start the game with that could also force a start in Factions for Ritualist or Assassin or Nightfall for Paragon or Dervish.
We don't know your likes and dislikes so cannot do anything other than give you basic choices.

Prophesies is great for a new player but it is very slow. It will take you forever to get enough money to buy max armour. On the upside, it also takes forever to get to an area that sells it. You get access to one campaign specific hero (a necro - althougha dervish hero is available in all campaigns once youa re level 20) and you are limited to the 6 core professions.
Factions spoon feeds you a lot better at the start. It also gives a bit more direction with secondary professions before you have to make the final choice. You get access to one campaign specific hero (an assassin) and it can get a little confusing off noob island at first. You get access to the 6 core professions, the rit and the assassin.
Nightfall provides heroes of all classes, you level very quickly and it does teach you how to play the game. You get access to the core professions, the derv and the paragon.
You arent locke dinto any one campaign. You can travel between them. Prophesies is European, Factions Asian and Nightfall Arabic/African. Pick the campaign that best suits the back story of your char. If the campaign gets boring, you can move to another one (although not straight away).
As for your secondary prof, you will be using mainly/all war skills anyway. You'll be able to access all eventually. Just pick one that interests you and go with that.
The Mad Addict
Well for warrior Proph has by far the best skins/hair/face (like most other classes) but most people now a days play so that can get to the end of a campaign as fast as they can or level 20 as fast as they can so if this is you then you should probably go factions or NF. But if you want to have a pimp daddy warrior with slicked back hair and a super hunks face then go Proph.
MagmaRed
Not for free. I somehow doubt anyone would pay extra when they don't need to. Only people I know who have used the makeover credits are people who wanted to use options from multiple campaigns, or who made their characters before the options existed.

Prophecies for the skill quests if you don't have many skills unlocked. Factions if you want to level up quickly. Nightfall if you want heroes who make them game easier.
Riot Narita
Personally I'd start from Nightfall - for the heroes. But if you have the Imp summoning stone, it probably doesn't that matter much.
You should probably choose based on how much you like the early parts of each campaign, and how much you like the faces etc in the character selection. Skill quests might be a consideration, but then again - if your ranger has a lot of skills unlocked, you can use skill tomes instead. Maybe your ranger already has some tomes stashed, or has the cash/zcoins needed to buy them.
Do you have Eye of the North? You can go there at level 10, and it seems easiest to reach from Nightfall (right outside Kamadan). This grants you access to:
- Free heroes
- Max armor
- Max weapons
- Attributes points boosted to the equivelent of a level 20
- PvE skills
- given the above, fast track to the "real" level 20.

Eragon Zarroc
NF for heroes which will be extremely helpful in the other campaigns.
