quick white mantle question
ajc2123
Is there a white mantle camp/base of operations? It is my understanding from the Proph storyline that the fort inside of the Riverside Province (Temple of Unseen) was their 'base' of sorts.
With the new shining blade camp, it would be nice to see a white mantle gathering point. Not expecting anything new but...was anything like this discovered?

There are White Mantle in several places. I think the biggest concentration can be found in the SW part of Nebo Terrace. (well, their goons, anyway.)

No there is no 'White Mantle Base' like there is a 'Shining Blade Camp'. At least, not yet. But I don't think there will be one.

A lot of Mantle were killed during the last part of Prophecies and in EotN, and more may have been killed by the depredations of the Titans (who probably wiped out at least some Mantle defenders while hunting down the Mursaat). The Mantle leaders were all wiped out, and the Mantle forces were scattered all over Kryta, Maguuma, S. Shiverpeaks, Ring of Fire, and Tarnished Coast. That must have spread them pretty darned thin. We don't know much about their numeric strength or what strongholds remain to them at this point, and I hope our friendly historian fills us in on some of this.
During Prophecies, we know that the main White Mantle barracks were in D'Alessio Seaboard and that they held the Temple of Tolerance (where we met Confessor Dorian), the Temple of the Unseen in Riverside, and Loamhurst on the Divinity Coast.
According to the rumors of the Mantle burning houses in Loamhurst, I suspect that is no longer a stronghold for them and they have lost access to the Eye of Janthir.
There is as yet no sign of a Mantle or Peacekeeper presence in North Kryta province, which makes me wonder if they still control access to LA. They may have withdrawn from D'Alessio Seaboard to consolidate their remaining strength.
It does seem likely that they still hold Riverside and the Temple of the Unseen, since the whole province was heavily fortified. I don't believe they would give it up easily, especially if there is a Mursaat gateway in the Temple (as is implied by the scene Glint showed us in Dragon's Lair). They may believe that this gives them hope of assistance from their "gods", since I'm not sure the Mantle rank-and-file is really aware of just how close the Mursaat are to extinction. Or perhaps they hope the gate will be an escape for them if things go badly with the civil war.

And ANET needed to bump up some play activity so they have conjured "something new" for 10 more bucks for the same whiners to complain they are bored of in about 10 days, even though they haven't done most of what there is in the game in the first place.

I get the feeling from reading that WM is bad and SB is good... (I'm new). Following the story line, I just completed the missions for D'Alessio Seaboard and was knighted by the WM. Then when I did Divinity Coast, helped the WM collect villagers (which the SB kidnapped at the end of the mission). Is there more than one possible path or can I assume that somewhere along the story I'll be changing alliance to SB ?

Also, the boundary between good and bad can be very slim sometimes

Just kidding please us SPOILER ALERTS when giving away the main story line, that way he can choose to know or not to know until he plays through the games.
But seriously he has never played through the games.
I will help him play through the games if he so chooses...
