Has Anet Lost their Way ?
Commander Kanen
Micro Transactions for a "Free Game"
More effot put into FaceBook page updates where bug fixes and skill updates go ignored.
Anet must put a deal of time into these things, and yet they are too busy to help the game play situation.
Has Anet sold out ??
Shure GW2 looks like a great idea but shouldnt Anet keep current players happy?
I feel quite ripped off at the moment, what are your feelings ?

Your still playing the game for free, the costumes are optional, you don't have to buy them if u don't want, I don't understand how you can feel ripped off, you got what you paid for, btw the box says "Free Online Play" did you not get that? there is no fine print
FoxBat
So you were expecting free updates?
Edit: OK, so you were expecting to PAY for updates, instead of a handful of people buying luxury items that support updates?
We are getting some actual new content (quests) and skill updates very soon, what exactly are you expecting?
And I sincerely doubt the trickle of microtrans puts a dent in GW2 development costs. They invest a very small team into making these updates, they look for a return based on that investment. If it was making anywhere near the money to support GW2, they'd probably hire another team to churn out full expansions, but it certainly isn't.

No, i just wish Anet would put as much time and effot into fixing the game as they do trying to make money for a game that doesnt exist yet.
I would pay money to help make the game better, not for updates that do nothing, Ya Know ?!

So.. you think they are trying to make money for GW2, heh well its a good thing the small amount of staff left working on GW1 work for free
Commander Kanen
If the "small amount of staff left working on GW1 work for free" Really work for free and Anet doesnt need money, why do storage panes, costumes and other things cost moneys ?!

Let's have them put full undivided attention on GW1 so the game that doesn't exist yet, won't have to! right!?
They ARE doing skill updates, and the last update included pre-loaded data for the things to come.
And if you truly think a company that has server upkeep costs, maintenance and plenty of other fees (and other things to use the money on...the non-existing game for example)
Then you really need to learn about this thing called life, it is right outside your door, don't be afraid of it
They just don't feel like telling everyone, everything that they are doing all the time.
And serious...whining about a Facebook page? you know how EASY it is to create and change the status of a facebook page?
Whiners -.-

Because it's a BUSINESS. They're supposed to be making MONEY. GOD.
We've gotten stuff for free already from this "War In Kryta" thing, and I guaran-frickin-tee you that we're going to be getting some more stuff for the 5th birthday. Can we please stop with the "ZOMG THEY WANT US TO PAY FOR S***!" stuff?

It's called viral marketing, I mean viral campaign
I had to google for that one but it comes down to expanding the brand's name through an online community and platforms like Twitter and Face Book. It seems only 1 out of 100 viral campaigns succeed. Which makes you wonder why they take that risk when recources are already very limited and especially when they acknowledged only a very small part of the playerbase would be reached.
