personal messages
Terrible Surgeon
Here I go again, another bad suggestion. I am tired of rages. People pm me after a match and rage. Sometimes we win, i get pm rages, sometimes we lose i get pm rages. every time it is by a dnd or offline person. I propose that when someone is offline or do not distirb they also can not send personal messages. Tired of PM's sent where i can not respond.

I actually like this idea. obviously they are abusing the function so they can vent without any real repercussion (save for reporting, though you need to be in the same district for that, another problem imho), so yeah, if they are using the feature to set as dnd or offline, they shouldnt be able to pm.

Add if they try PM'ing you while abusing the ignore list.

Why don't you just set yourself to DnD? It's not like you'll be talking in PvP. Anyway, outside of PvP, this could be useful, but I don't think there would be a lot situations.
Hmmm, I'd rather have it then not, but I don't know if it's worth all that much. /signed, but at a low importance.
PS: You'll want to add a notification that your message failed because you're set to DnD/Offline/Ignore as well.

While I do agree with personal messages I would like a functionality that only friends are allowed to send you message while you are offline or recent party members. That way if someone you maybe pugged with can ask you about grouping again. The idea to message someone for rages I don't like but messaging them while offline is of course a great idea.

/signed, but...
They can still quickly change their status, so maybe add a cooldown of 10...3 seconds (attribute: patience)
Also: allow guild and alliance chat

What gives? Someone actually came up with an idea I like. I also like the idea of not being able to PM anyone on your ignore list.

It is annoying yes. lol.
Adding to ignore list for a day or two works ok also. But yes, people shouldn't be able to msg when set on that status.

This has been suggested for the last several years. It's still a good idea. Is there a reason it hasn't been implemented? /signed

I'm sure I could have found more, but got tired of looking, that was just from my first page of search results. Been suggested many times, so contribute to one of those topics. I like the idea, it is fairly simple, and shouldn't be difficult to implement, but we dont' need another topic about it.

Playing PvP? Go to DnD or Offline when you start.

Specially regarding the people sending PMs from offline mode, that shouldn't be possible anymore.

people who rage than go to a mode where we can't even respond back, such immature bahaviour. It's like they come out of the house, and bark than shut the door and plug their ears.

actually, i hope that this idea is in effect for Ignore+DnD+Offline and make it a double edged sword. If you can type to them they can type to you. if not tough...
so not just the offline or DnD, add onto the ignore option as well. after all if your ignoring someone your not responding to them.
so all three stati. exempting online you cannot type to anyone except all chat,alliance,guild,trade...
/signed
footnote* expand the friends list+ iggy list, iggy list real short compared to friends list anyway + add a message of why your on DnD/Offline kinda like a chat IM like yahoo/AoL/Msn, ETC
Option Chosen: Do Not Disturb
Reason: HA(can type in any message you wish up to 120 Characters)[can be decided on length of message]

if they are "offline" or "away" they shouldn't obviously be able to pm anyone. Also, they don't want to be disturbed, but they still want to be able to disturb others?

/signed. i agree with. not only do away with the obnoxious people but it will also be a reminder to yourself that you are set to a status that you shouldn't be if you need/want to talk to someone. it's happened to me. i've been on dnd and pm'd someone and duh! they can't respond to me. bad memory.....

Thanks MagmaRed, But the only other thread that is almost the same as this one was the last one. The others talk about ignore and adding crap like a 5 minute buffer to switching between offline and online or dnd and online.
Also, why should i have to switch to offline or dnd to avoid a flamer with emotional issues as suggested by some posts? I am often waiting for other people to get online to gvg,HA, or something else. I turn all other chat like local, ally, and guild chat off when i pvp so me going offline is hindering.
All i know is getting a random flame from an offline or dnd punk while im trying to dshot a woh monk is a pain and shouldn't be allowed.

Doing a search myself for a previous thread, I'm very surprised to find that there are more than ten of these kinds of threads, and just about all of them have under one page of discussion.
This thread seems comprehensive, covering both preventing responses while on Offline or DnD and when a player has someone on their ignore list.
Closed. All other threads will similarly be closed/deleted.
