Thinking about coming back....

Due to lack of games to play I am considering giving GW another go.

I started a month or two after release and I stopped playing shortly before GWEN came out. Back in the day I mainly PvP'd. At my most competitive I was in a couple of top 20 guilds. Eventually I just got burned out on the game and went to WoW with most of the people I had played with.

If I purchase GWEN and try to get back into the swing of things, are there a fair amount of people still active? With GWEN being an endgame expansion, do people actually do missions and that kind of thing or is it heroes and solo? Basically, is the PvE side of things more active these days?

What type of PvP is active these days (besides GvG?)

And last but not least, is blood spike and IWAY finally dead?

Could someone move this to the QA forum, thought that was where I was posting, just realized I put it in the wrong forum.

Since I only came back a few days ago myself I can't help you much BUT there is one thing you need to know - If you are European you you will notice the Euro districts are almost completely empty, so you will have to move to the US districts to play with people.

PvP in GW is all HA and GvG. RA is a rage fest imho and codex is codex. PvE is still somewhat strong and the euro districts as was mentioned above were always slow in pve.
You can usually PUG a group to do pve in most places if you are on at a decent time of the day but yes a lot of people just Hero/Henchway the crap.
Also, the game is in major decline in the pvp areas since the removal of TA and HB.

Forgot to mention, blood spike was nerfed but IWAY is still used just not as much as before.

Not really, there used to be lots of people - now there's one district with 0-3 people this includes the major cities.

Follow the Zaishen quests. Seems to be those draw plenty of PUGs and will help you pace yourself nicely through the game.

pve can be done easily hero/hench. ur rarely gonna get a group of 8 peeps doing pve together and that would be from ur own guild. it's good to go through with two people and 6 heroes. find a good friend to play with.

The PvE side is active, just visit any of the port towns - Lion's Arch, Kamadan & Kaineng Center. The rest of it is variable populations depending on the "cool" hangouts and the daily Zaishen missions and bounties (get them in Great Temple of Balthazar). It's the same with PvP, it is fairly populated but area population surges with the daily Zaishen Combat.

There have been a lot of skill and game changes since you left, so you might want to double check your favorite builds.
