Making a Guild Wars video
knockout34
Lately I've been noticing that I would like to make walkthrough videos for certain things whether it just be for a guildie or to put on youtube. So for those of you who do make videos, what program do you use to record it? I tried hypercam which would record the video but wouldn't save it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I use Debut video capture from NCH. If you want the full version you have to pay, but there's a free version that's perfect for recording on-screen or from webcam. Highly recommended. Here's one of my vids.
P.S. I noticed I didn't record this vid with sound, but in the program you can select to record sound from the sound card (in-game) or from a microphone (if you want to dictate).

WeGame records audio and video from Guild Wars, and it's free. I use that.

Thanks for all the replies i've tried all of the programs and they all work great. What if i want to speed up the video though? Would that be an option in the program or if you were posting it somewhere?

i use fraps to record and then .. lol .. the good old windows movie maker to edit it. It's not great but it works. Has a bunch of effects and stuff..

1.Press control key
2.Left click the clip and drag it to the right (to slow down) and to the left (to speed up)
its easy :P,thats why i love SVG9
Tho,if your not gona do fancy editing with epic lightshows and shiz (which i dont do) you can use WMM,but Sony Vegas is just fun for me

I think that fraps would work the best in this setiation!

A note on Fraps though, as long as you don't mind a watermark appearing on your video, then the free version of Fraps is great. Pay a small amount for the full version to remove this watermark. Otherwise its very easy to use (though be warned you do need a considerable amount of hard drive free space for your captures that might run into minutes). But tinker with the capture settings to suit.
Once captured, indeed, Vegas Pro, Power Director, Pinnacle and the likes all do a very good job (each with their pro's and con's). Or, as mentioned already, save the cash and do a reasonable job by using WMM.
Good luck in your endevours Mr Spielberg

Ok, so let me be the first to say the trial version of fraps is a piece of shit, at the very best.
It will only allow you to record 30 seconds at a time, no good.
I tryed wegame, and some other crap excuses for a program.
There is this free one found at http://zdsoft.com
Records however long you want at good fps, does not make you lagg nothing like fraps, and it quite easy I assume for any computer to run reguardless of specs since it seems to not take up much CPU percentage.
I would go with the zdsoft recorder hands down for a free one that can do everything you want it to do.
Here is an example of zdsoft recording quality, fraps recording quality is just as bad.
