Dear Guru mods!

I was wondering why the quality of guru avatars is so bad. Isn't the server good enough to keep up with it? On a lot of other forums they are just the same quality as the picture but here they get crappy Any reason?

Tommy,

Guru allows a specified size of avatar (max is 100 x 100). There's also a 19.5kb file size limit. If your avatar falls within these parameters, it shouldn't turn out grainy or otherwise messed up (unless the file was saved as a poor quality in the first place). If the file size is too large, the forum software will automatically compress it, resulting in a grainy/fuzzy image.

Avatars, while fun, aren't a necessity so be glad we have them! A file size limit is a good way of respecting all sorts of internet connections, loading times, etc.

Take care,
Jenn

Ah cool thnx Guess my avatar has just too many colours and such in it. Now I understand, thought it was either the 100x100 px or the 19.5kb size. Thnx <3
