Question about Kurzick faction spending
Doomlord Grimscythe
Hello everyone,I apologize for having a question that is probably simple to answer but I am a little new to Guild Wars and all my research has given me odd answers.
I am trying to purchase a Kurzick skill from the faction guy,of course i need rank 1 Friend of the Kurzicks to purchase said skill, which i do not have. My question is..do I have to acquire 100k faction to gain rank 1 in this title track to purchase my skill? And will i lose out on the excess faction past my 10k limit? Nowhere on the sites i normally frequent does it say anything about the faction portion of Kurzicks/Luxons,only farming strats etc.
Thank you for your time and I hope my question wasn't too noobish, the transactions of this faction mechanic are just confusing the heck out of me

You can spend Faction at the Kurzick Faction Rewards person in House Zu Heltzer or your guild hall (if you're in a kurzick guild). You can spend it on several things, such as Amber Chunks, Passage Scrolls to Urgoz Warren. You get double title points if you donate to your alliance or buy allegiance skills.
So to get the 100k on your title to get rank 1, you can donate 50k to your alliance for example, or buy 100k worth of Amber Chunks.
The 100k for rank 1 are title points. This is different from the amount of faction you have available to spend. Every time you spend faction you get that amount (or double in case of donations/skills) added to your title track. You also lose the same amount of Luxons faction (if you have luxon faction available). The Luxon or Kurzick title doesn't ever go down if you spend faction of the other type, you just lose your available faction.
So it is wisest to acquire one type of faction at a time so you don't lose any when you spend it.
In conclusion: yes, you need rank 1 of the Kurzick title to be able to buy Kurzick skills (and you need to be level 20 too), and the fastest way to get this would be to donate faction to your alliance for double points.

Thank you for the very quick response
I appreciate the clarification of the difference between title points and faction, think that is where i was getting very confused.
I can continue my Guild Wars adventures a little more educated now

Yeah some people get confused and think they need to accumulate 100,000 faction at once without understanding the difference between faction available and title . The only thing for which you need a certain amount of faction available are the quests Befriending the Kurzicks/Luxons. After that, you can spend it whenever you want on what you want. Just keep in mind when you get double title points.

A simple way to gain Kurzick faction is Fort Aspenwood (competitive mission). Seems that Kurzick side is normally more stronger than Luxon side, so you can gain 2.500 factions per win + additional factions per kill.
And Fort Aspenwood is fun

Terrible Surgeon
Jade Quarry is fun too for 3,500 faction per win.

A simple way is run around and kill monsters while under the blessing of the Kurzick. You get points for each monster, and more in hardmode, and even better bonus if you vanquish an area. 10k+ for a vanquish isnt too bad

A downside to Kurzick Blessing is that lately (or even longer) most of the Kurzick territory is under Luxon control, wich leaves less areas to get Kurzick Blessing.
(so, more Kurzick guilds need to kick some Luxon ass in PvP/GvG !)

When you vanquish an area you get 50 faction per kill at the end: Kurzick faction in Echoval Forrest and Luxon faction in Jade Sea. Doesn't mater who is under control there or under who's blessing you are. So you can vanquish a kurzick area that is under the control of the luxons and if you dont take any blessing you will get 50 kurzick faction per kill and no Luxon faction at all.

Also, if you go and kill mobs in Ferndale to get points, you can take the 2 repeatable quests (one you can do returning to take the reward from the other one) worth 400 points each without having to walk more than normal.

i am not good at pvp, or the pve varieties of pvp even. so ferndale is always a good option, gives like 25k or so kurz faction each time and takes less than 45 mins if you dont suck, faster with humans of course, but i average around 30-40 mins with h/h and is one of the easiest vanquishes IMO that arent already annihilated by quests (bukdek, tahnnakai, etc..) though it wouldnt hurt for you to do JQ FA and AB to boost up your limit and just make things quicker.
