Hey guys,
I've reinstalled Guild Wars again today after a long long time. I used to play this game a lot back in the day and thus a beautiful fully FoW geared Warrior was welcoming me back to GW. However one thing annoyed me already (besides his name, but I've read that there's a rename feature now so that doesn't have to be a problem anymore).
I have the Knight's Obsidian armor. My headpiece gives me +1 to TACTICS. That's annoying me a lot and I was wondering if there's something to change that ingame now? Like make that headpiece give +1 Strength?
It might be something little but something like that may totally keep me from playing again since that FoW armor costed me a shitload and I'm deadbroke to replace it now.
noob question

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to change the headpiece's inherent +1.
You have essentially 2 options. You can, of course, get a new FoW helm with the desired +1 on it. It's only a helm so it doesn't cost too much (but obviously more than you currently have).
Or you can purchase one of the newer headpieces that have a universal +1. (They give +1 to whatever Rune is placed on them.)
In any case, I wouldn't say that the +1 to Tactics and/or the potential loss of one point in some other attribute, should be a big problem.
My Warrior never uses her FoW helm any more - she wears a pair of Asuran "shades" instead.

Also, beware that the rename feature costs real money.

If you don't display the headpiece of your Obsidian tin can anyway, just get any of the maximum armor non-elite headpiece that gives the +1 of your desired attribute. Usually, I don't display headpieces and have one 1k headpiece of every attribute in my inventory.
The cheapest maximum armor headpiece (price and looks) is the crown you get for 5 Bison Championship Tokens which you get by winning "Round 1: Fight!" from Magni the Bison in Gunnar's Hold (Eye of the North expansion). One fight costs 100g and yields one token, so the crown costs 500g and no material. It is an universal headpiece, so it automatically adapts to the attribute rune you put into it.

The fact that it gives +1 tactics isn't much compensation. Even after the buff, Warriors generally shouldn't be running Tactics.

This is true, unless using a headpiece that gives the bonus dependent on the rune.

Actually it does make a difference. DSlash has the 5 adr breakpoint at 14 Swd, Enraging Charge has the 4 adr breakpoint at 14 Str. If you want to hit either of those without using major runes, you'll need to change helmets. |
