After reading today's White Mantle post I thought it would be fun to think up a version of the banned songs. This is the best I could do while listening to my kids singing the alphabet song off Super Why:

It was a bright sunny day just this last week
So I thought I'd take a dip in the nearby creek
Thought I stepped on some rocks so I looked down my nose
And saw five baby skales nibblin on my toes

Skale in the river, skale in the lake
I dont know how much more my heart can take
I run to the left, I run to the right
But that darn old skale wont give up the fight

Went to the fishing hole and sat at the edge
Was doing real fine till a rustle at the hedge
Jumped up real fast and in the pool I did slip
'Cause I saw three skales with drool on their lip

Skale in the river, skale in the lake
I dont know how much more my heart can take
I run to the left, I run to the right
But that darn old skale wont give up the fight

I was walking down the forest path and what did I see
A mean old skale was looking at me
I jumped right back, yep I turned tail and ran
and Ill keep on running as long as I can

Skale in the river, skale in the lake
I dont know how much more my heart can take
I run to the left, I run to the right
But that darn old skale wont give up the fight

I loved the nibbling at my toes reminds of one they'd teach the kiddies to sing like ring a roses or whatever it is. Or theres that one abotu speckle frogs on a log. awww memories. Keep up the good work, the thing is now youve made a song with the same name and no one else has then yours will be quite famous

Prize-winning hooooog, priiiiiize-winning-hog,
whaaaat are they feeding youuuuu?
Prize-winning hooooog, priiiiiize-winning-hog,
iiiit's not your fauuuult!
The Mantle will take you to the bog,
you're obviously not their favourite hog,
Prize-winning hooooog, priiiiiize-winning-hog,
iiiit's not your fauuuult!

(Just thought of another one :P

The pig in the meadow goes "oink!"
The pig in the meadow goes "oink!"
And then the Mantle come to take him away,
and that's how we get BACON!)

Are you going to Kamaden Fair?
Bog Skale Fin
Glowing Heart,
and Truffle.
Remember me,
To the one who lives there,
She was once a true love of mine.

Or...

In Ascalon City,
Where the Girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Mary Malone.
She wheeled her wheelbarrow,
Through broad streets and narrow,
Crying "Apples, sweet apples, no spiders in tow!"

(Dedicated to Nicholas the Traveler)

There once was a tiny piglet
The smallest you ever did see
They called him a runt
So their hands he did bunt
Thats a prize winning pig to me

Each day I took that piglet
Out for long walks in the sun
We played the whole day
Who'd care what they say
He's a prize winning pig to me

O'er summer that pig started to grow
Once started he just wouldnt stop
He'd eat all the slops
And then all the crops!
'Prize winning pig' they would say to me

I took that pig down to the Fair
The ground rumbled as we went along
Folks stopped and they stared
We made quite the pair
That Prize-Winning Pig and me

Many years have passed and we're older
He had a good life that is true
He's no longer so strong
He hobbles along
But he's still a Prize-Winning Pig to me.
