What exactly has been said to possibly give bonuses in GW2?
Chocobo1
I'm getting confused at the moment. I was under the impression that a full Hall of Monuments was the only thing that gave a bonus in GW2, but now my alliance is saying that if you have characters with the GWAMM title, it will give some kind of bonus in GW2. Is this true? And is there anything else that I'm missing?

Catch 22 no doubt, the long term title/trophy hunters will want something flashy. But to make the game appealing to new players it can't be something that will give older players an edge, gl on that A-Net

They said a while back that GWAMM and LDoA will give something in gw2. Which for all we know could be a red cape. Nothing we get in gw2 from gw1 can give us a gameplay advantage over people who don't have it. so who cares.

or how about 5 year players like me that dont have any titles maxed out, just play for fun?
Chocobo1
Awesome cheers for that. Is it possible for a source? I know it's really unfair to ask someone to do that but I'm terrible at finding this stuff out. Thanks for the quick replies so far guys.

If you're not filling your HoM for fun then you shouldn't be doing it because there is not any guarantee there will be anything cool given to people who do fill it up. Also, everyone who is filling or has filled their HoM up purely for GW2 reasons (really are there any?) might end up QQing after gw2 comes out if they get nothing for doing it. Do you want to be a QQ or just fill it for fun is the real question here?

I'm more worried that I'll miss out on something cool, like the Divine Aura. It might not do that much, but I was still bummed that I didn't get it. A bonus is a bonus, big or small. I don't really find filling my HoM fun though.

"Then, when Guild Wars 2 arrives, each of these monuments will correspond to special features your Guild Wars 2 characters can "inherit" from your own legendary past, giving you access to exclusive titles, companions , weapons, attire, and miniatures. These inherited items are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to acquire them."

We know nothing of this, currently. Plead ANet to give us some info, like they've lately been doing for other things.

Annnnnnnnd 3 million people will be walking around with the same reward from the HoM it will make me vomit.

War bonds. Thats what its gonna be. Human characters find HoM, find the money their "ancestors" gave the shining blade to help fund the war effort. Turn them in 250 years later with interest.

@OP - it may depend upon your definition of "bonus". From what ANet has said, the "bonuses" will be purely cosmetic - like has been said, special minis, or unique weapon and armor skins. They will not grant any "bonus" to your skills and/or abilities, so you won't be any more powerful than anyone else. It would be like the /bonus weapons, or bonuses you get from the CE editions in GW1.
