So I try to set it to 16x, I get the performance loss, but not the increased image quality.
I turned it to Over-ride the Application setting and I've also tried to make it work with the game one, I've tried 16x Multi-sampling or Super-sampling, I've also tried COmbined)
I notice a performance hit, but still alot of aliasing. It worked in the past for Guild Wars. I also tried turning off the ingame AA to 0, and it looked like no AA was being applied.
I tried nHancer also, no go. I can force it on in various other games, so it's odd.
I have the 195.62 drivers for my NVIDIA card. A GTX280.
Thing is, I have a 1920 x 1200 monitor, and 4x AA leaves a ton of very visable aliasing.

Sorry but you are stuck with 4x AA.
GW does not like to play well with anything that tries to override the AA settings to something far beyond what is allowed.

to the best of my knowledge - you cannot make GW use more than 4x AA - it's an old game and will still look like an old game even with 16x AA etc... I wouldn't worry about it.

I want more but 4xAA does the job, hopefully GW2 will support up to 16xAA.
