While off feather farming I got a gold shield, like normal, I IDed it. Comes out to be a +10AL vs Demons. I think this is awesome, I can use it on my monk for DoA. But, since it's only AL11 r7 tactics, would it give the 8AL? If I'm understanding the wiki correctly, it'd only give me 5AL + 10AL vs Demons.
So is it either:
A) 8AL + 10AL vs Demons
b) 5AL + 10AL vs Demons
c) Something else?
Thnx in advance

If you don't meet a requirement on a shield, it will give 8 basic armor regardless of the max basic armor.
No matter the requirement and your attribute, mods on a shield will always have full effect.
So the answer is A: 8AL + 10AL vs demons.
P.S. Where did you read that info on the wiki? We (some other guru members and myself) did some testing a while ago and found out about the 8 armor regardless of max armor and edited the wiki accordingly:
Bolded part applies to your particular case.

Your character will gain only 5 armor rating if that shield was not a randomly generated drop and was below 16 base armor rating. At least one exception exists (Longtooth's Shield which grants 6 armor rating).

Yawgmoth
Your shield was a randomly generated drop (all dropped whites/blues/purples/golds are) so it will grant you base 8 armor instead of 11 if you don't meet the req and you will get full benefit from all its mods (full +10 vs demons).
