Return to Pre-Searing?

Is it possible to return to Pre-Searing? When I played this game a couple years back, I thought I heard someone say that once you've reached Lion's Arch you could somehow return to Pre-Searing. My sister has just started playing Guild Wars and instead of making some character to run around with her on, I thought it'd just be more convenient to run around with my main.

can't do it, once you leave pre you are out for good.
Just make a new dude to go hang out with her, I'm sure you missed some cool stuff there anyways.

In one of the April fools update notes it said you could travel back. Obviously they were lies. Don't remember which year it was, possibly 2 years ago. Anyway, that's the most likely explanation.

You would need to find the acalonian time machine. Pre-Searing is 2 years prior.

Lots of time machines in the games already. Just have to take ferry from Elona to Lion's Arch to step 2 years back in time.

weren't there some early bugs that allowed people to travel between Pre and the present world

The closest was the ability to go to the GH with a pre-char and trade max weaps/runes/tomes/etc into the pre environment. Nowadays if you're found with a post-searing item or skill you're character or account is banned, can't remember which, eitherway it's bad.

How would someone even get a post-searing item? I've never understood Pre-Searing trade.
