Healing staff usefulness

Hi guys, very simple question here.

I've dropped a healing staff some weeks ago, and i'm wondering if it has some use. I usually swap to a prot staff when casting enchantments like PS, Aegis, Guardian, SH, SoA etc, which are all in the protection prayers line, and so they get also the bonus of the double HCT of the staff.

But in which cases is the double HCT on a healing staff useful? The only useful healing enchantments i can think of are spotless soul/mind and vigorous spirit, which have already a very low casting time (1/4), so they don't need the HCT bonus and can be casted with the prot staff.

Thank you very much for your help guys.

You've pretty much summed it up.

20% enchantment can be utilised by a prot staff, for vigorous and spotless etc.

It's best to have a 40/40 healing set, it's more beneficial for moar healing.

If you make a build at some point that concentrates on healing rather than protection, then the healing staff will be of benefit. (duh )
Since you will probably want to be able to use both types of build at some point (and it's easy to swap weapons and builds) you should keep the healing staff.

It may be that at the point in the game you are at, you don't have many healing spells, but there are lots of them to be had. And, though most of them only have a 1 sec cast time, even that can benefit from HCT mods.

Well, tbh my question was a little generic. If we are talking about a hero, who can't weapon swap, i agree that it would be sometimes useful to give him a healing staff, so he can have the 20% ench and the HCT on healing (if he's got a healing build). But, for me, i can build the weapon set i like easily, and i can weapon swap during the battle, so i usually swap to the 20% ench when casting enchantments and to the 40/40 healing if i have some healing skill to spam.

I was wondering if it does exist a situation where a 40/20/20 healing staff is more desirable than a prot one, assuming that i can weapon swap as i like.

Healing Seed is better used with 40/20/20 than with a prot one, but well there is a better chance of HSR when used with 40/40 healing set. Another skill would benefit most of the healing staff is Healing Breeze.

Yes, i had already thought about those skills but, well, healing seed was useful in the ursan times, now i think it could be useful only when you have some tanks. I don't know if it's better to use a 40/40 set to increase the chance of having the recharge halved, or a 20% ench to increase the duration, though. Healing Breeze can be used in some ER bar i think, so one can swap from the prot staff to the heal staff to spam healing breeze. I don't know if it's worth it, though.

However, i was wondering if someone had found some build, rather than single skill, which could work sensibily better with a 40/20/20 heal, but it seems that there aren't any, aside maybe some HB ursan-style healing build.
