Do you have anything specific you'd like to know? I know you're curious, but it would help if we had more direct questions to answer.

Welcome to guru.

guild? I am supposed to have a guild?

you can get a trial copy and try things out for yourself first.
There are also wikis for just about any information you might want to know. If you have specific question (as neo said) you can ask them here, though I would suggest looking thru the FAQ section first since many of your questions might be there already.

and welcome to guildwars!

If it's your log in email, it's never a good idea to publicly post it. You don't want somebody to try and get into your account, so it's just a precaution.

Here is a link to the trial, good for 10 hours or 14 days.
http://www.guildwars.com/freetrial/

Do not use your normal email address as your account name. Create a new one that you use just for the account, and give your normal one as contact email. This helps prevent hacking.

The trial will show you the basic game. If you like it, you can purchase all three campaigns in a package called Trilogy for $40. Just shop around on the internet for good deals on individual campaigns if you don't want all three now.

Hope you enjoy it. If you use the trial then buy a campaign, you just use the Add A Key on your login page to upgrade your account from trial to the full game.

Okay so do you midn explaining that a bit more detailed. Yes im buying the Trilogy tomorrow. So do you have to play them in order ? do they each contain new content ?

Each campaign in the trilogy is separate, so you don't have to play them in order.

Factions and Nightfall built upon the foundation of the original game, Prophecies. They introduced new professions, new skills, armor and titles. Factions introduced the PvP game type "Alliance Battle", while Nightfall introduced "Heroes", which are NPC's that you can customize and bring along when you are playing the PvE content.

Okay so that sounds really good =]
Right now im reading a sysnopsis on all teh classes and kinda trying to get a general idea about what I want to play. So do i download all off the campaigns and that will give me access to the classes, then start with the original games : Prophecies ?

yes, the thing is that even if you have a character in prophecies, that character can travel to factions and nightfall and vice versa.

Well if you have the trilogy, you have all 10 plyable professions you can use and all armors that come with it at some point. There are 6 core professions; the Warrior, Ranger, monk, Mesmer, Elementalist and Necromancer. You can make those 6 character types in any of those 3 campaigns, core professions. Factions and Nightfall both have their 2 exclusive playable professions. Which were you thinking of making?

I dunno , i was a Archer in WoW. I liek them but then again maybe its time for something new. I was leaning toward a Necro, Ranger, Mesmer, Assassin kinda tpye. Any suggestions for a beggining class combo ?

Not mesmer yet definitely, that's a hard profession to play. I'd recommend a ranger or necromancer, as they're both core professions as well and easy to understand/play. Assassins are also good, but I think those 2 professions you should get used to the style of gameplay on first.

Edit: Well mesmers are really fun once you get used to the game a bit, people find them more of a PvP professions and I'd agree on that. So for now I'd still recommend a Ranger or Necromancer.

Been playing for 5 years lol. I don't think I actually have an MSN...odd now that I think about it, you could just add me on forums here and/or my character in game later if you do get it.

Character name is Parasitic Gene Flow.

1) Apart from being a MMORPG no. Guild Wars is more like a single player RPG that you can play with other people. It is heavily instanced and the explorable areas you enter only with your party. Also the skill system is like a trading card game. You have to check it out to understand. Another thing to keep in mind that you get max armor and weapons very early. The prestige part of the game are the rare skinned weapons and hard to get armors and titles. You can check the Guild Wars wiki for everything you need to know.

2)There is no grinding in Guild Wars. You progress through the storyline. You will do grinding only if you want to get a title or something rare.

3)That depends on your playstyle. Check Guild Wars wiki for more info on each class.

4)Each expansion is a stand alone game and represents a continent on the planet of Tyria, exept from Eye of The North. I would suggest getting Nightfall first.

5)It helps a bit but with a little guide reading you can solo the normal mode of the game easily so it is not necessary.

6) Yup and after a point in the story you will be able to change it anytime you want.

7) Its a realy fun online RPG with no sub that entertained millions of people for 5years so yeah.

8) Both. There are many rude, whiners and negative nancys around but you will also find many players that love the game, are glad to help you out and organize some of the most fun and rewarding events that can be compared to the official ones.

Edit: Get your time to learn the game before you try PvP. After you finish a campaign read some guides at PvXwiki and try Random Arena. People might be harsh with you for not knowing how to play at first so just ignore them.

Hope i helped a bit and welcome to Guild Wars .

A guild is a good way to get your feet wet in guild wars. Most players I know, including myself, started in a "noob" guild, which is devoted to helping new players.

If you get the game and have any questions, or even feel like being in a guild for a little while, just shoot me a whisper in game. My in game name is Uriel Wolfblood.

I'd be glad to help you with anything you need. My time frame is a bit off though, so that may be a problem lol. I'm usualy on between 9am and 3pm Central U.S. time, or late at night (midnight or later) Central U.S. Time. I work nights you see, lol.
