What to do?

So I've sort of outplayed anyother games I currently have and I want to get back into GW but everytime i log on I run around for about 10 mins then log off...Is there really anything left to do? Completed everything on my main, got all the armor and weapons I want, don't really feel like title grinding but I guess I could if I had nothing else to do. Considering i've been out of the loop for some time I have no idea about any farming groups or runs so that takes that out of the question....Not saying I couldn't learn if I had enough motivation :P

Read up on the WiK stuff that's been happening lately.
If that's not interesting you, wait around a few weeks for the next update to roll out.
If that doesn't bring you back, uninstall and come back when something comes out that peaks your interest.

You say you've been out of the loop for a while; why not start another character in a class you haven't played before, perhaps in a different campaign so the starting areas at least would be new to you? And take your time with it too, learn to have fun with the game in the same way you did when you started, before titles, elite gear and moar golds ever "mattered".

some of the newish farming builds are fun as far as the team stuff goes. i miss solo farming but i am having a lot of fun with the SoOSC groups and such. Like a fast paced version of Ursan with kiting involved.

Just quit GW, it's dead. Go fine a better game like MW2 or SC2, or even arma. There are lot's choices out there so you don't have to waste your time away on a dying game. You play for fun, no? Then don't force yourself to play a game that you're already bored to death with. And title grind? that's just an excuse to waste your time on GW, in the end, you really don't feel like you had much fun. (Finally....10k exp till this title, 3 more areas till XX vanquished, you'll feel like shit, i'm talking from experience)
Missing HB
Thing is GW2 was first announced at end of 2008 , and since that time ( or even after EotN release ) , we got very few content updates , and not many " good " ones ( very few efficient skills updates aswell ) . That's why more and more players quit game , or just log to go kamadan .. .
Actually , i'd rather say we should wait for that promised " war in kryta " content , but in my opinion we can't expect much from it, regarding how much they cared about updates since september ( henchman contest fiasco , codex fiasco , last skill update ( SW ) fiasco , etc .. ) ( at best , it will be 4-5 quests ) . Maybe i'm wrong , but well , they re being so predictible in updates ( with costumes especially ) , that's it hard to believe the opposite.

I wonder when GW was declared dead for the first time. Probably somewhere in the beta.
I could try to declare GW2 dead hoping to be the first, but i bet i'm too late for that too. |
but really, it's a game, it's your choice whether it's getting boring(aka time to move on to a different game) or it's still worth playing.

I just started up again too. Everywhere is deserted I thought to play some AB, but there was no one there! It used to be packed.... I can't even find a pug to play with in pve.
I only started because I heard about this kryta business. I hope it is fun. I wish it is going to be the same as or better than the sorrows furnace update. That was wickedly fun.

Totally cliché but GW is what you make it, especially now, and none of us really know if you will still enjoy the game as we all have differing and subjective ideas of enjoyment.
New content?
Not really hence it's a question of whether you want to roll a new and unplayed class, grind titles, farm or PvP.
As such there's nothing literally "new" to do but there are ways of revisiting the same content in vastly different ways.
I've spent the last few months helping newer players on early quests just to revisit missions I haven't played in years and have thoroughly enjoyed it.I've also dusted off a few old chars for PvP which has also been enjoyable as much has changed.
In the end it's all up to you really, try to avoid the grind though.

I never wanter titles, but it only gets really grindy after the 25th title and all the other ones are quite fun actually.

I'm surprised how many long time players really have only played 1 or 2 professions. Branch out, try new professions. Try playing unique builds. Try playing unique hero combinations. Start from a campaign you aren't overly familiar with. You'd be surprised how much enjoyment you can still squeeze out of this game.

I know I'm really weird in this regard but I absolutely love making new toons and taking them through all the campaigns and usually getting them a single set of nice armor. I literally have 19 characters across all the professions that I do take turns playing fairly regularly. Yes, my title tracks are all pretty mediocre but it's just the way I enjoy playing the game.

Returning to the original question, did you really really do everything? Apart from titles and simple campaign finishing you can try new builds, do challanges, zaishens if they're funny enough, and there's all those things in EotN if you have it (polimock, norn tournament, brawling and drinking contests etc). Or, as from what I read you're left alone after all this time, find a new guild and do all the funny things a guild does.
MagmaRed
If you are bored on your main, and have done everything you can or want to do, then make a new character, or use a different one you already have. My main has done everything but a few account titles. I work on other characters and the account titles at the same time. My 'main' has been used extremely little over the past year since I have been playing other characters. Depending on how much time you play, it may get to a point where you have several 'main' characters. My Ranger is my 'main', but outside of account titles, there is nothing left to do on it. My Monk and Necro have little left to do now, as they only have account titles and the consumables left (Drunk, Sweet, and Party). My Ritualist and Mesmer are coming along now, as those are the ones I have been using. When I complete the Vanquisher, Guardian, and Cartography titles on them, I'll move on to my next character, unless GW2 is out by then.
If you enjoy the game, keep playing it. You don't have to spen all your time on one character. And if you play PvP, there are certainly options there. But to make the most of PvP you will want to make sure you find a guild that is active in it, as PUGing PvP is a lesson in futility.

But I wouldn't spend thousands of hours to get 10 characters to level 20 and finish all 3+1 campaigns 10 times. Did you actually do that? Wow.

Lol, you are complaining when u actually have titles to work on? pffft. Find a guild that is enjoyable to play with and be around. It is the people that you play with that will make the game enjoyable.

Another suggestion, if your not happy with your guild, guild hop a bit. There are all kinds of active guilds still doing PvE and PvP related stuff. Dont believe all the QQ'rs out here, the game is still very much alive to many players. They know it too, why else would they even bother with this forum?

Yep, GW is dead an only the die hard fanboi's won't admit it. If you want fun and pugs you just need to goto one of them great mmorpg's like WOW or DAOC or EVERQUEST or if you still want FREE with no monthly fee or charge for the game try ANARCHY ONLINE that's what I'm playing mostly now. It's quite a lot of fun and great LOOT much much much better than GW. I never will understand why GW capped at level 20 and no real loot of value as that's what the majority of gamers play for in the first place is unlimited leveling and loot that continues to evolve and just get better and make you stronger and stronger. Obviously their origional plan that SKILL only matters went out the window when they introduced titles and consumables.

Yes GW is dead to many of the elite minority but we are talking about a game with a shelf life. How this escapes so many baffles the mind. The deal on steam has actually seen an upsurge in new players but if your grinding titles or doing speed runs at high-end then yes....there has been a drop off.
PvP dropped years ago.

GW was always based on an easy lvl cap and loot based on aesthetics as opposed to power.
That's why people play it(ignoring the non-subscription).Period.
If you want to spend end-game grinding for "1337" loot this is not the game for you.

As for your confusion about the level cap and quality of loot? Well, you just indicated that Guild Wars' design philosophy clearly marks it as "Not the game for you" and you're only just realizing it after all this time...
And if anyone actually likes Anarchy Online, they're welcome to it... kill ten rats, with mah lazer rifle pew pew! Go, enjoy your AO, no need to troll this "dead game's" forums.

Well mainly I post so others won't "throw their money away" on a dead and dying game. Sure the $20 for everything drew in some new players but once they realize there's nobody to play with and only fanboi's and 'Rons are left they will soon scurry away to better games like WOW and DAOC and EVERQUEST and FREE TO PLAY ANARCHY ONLINE. )
Besides it basically is the fanboi's that have ruined and made GW dead. They whined and cried for this and that and every nerf has turned another mob of players away. Eventually you'll have the socialistic game of your dreams.....just before they turn OFF the switch to the servers. It's not going to last NCsoft has already proven they will easily shut a game down when they are ready.
Oh and don't forget the horde of bots is also out there destroying this game. So between the fanboi's and the bots it won't be long before <click> Lights out. )

Could you place an estimate or time frame on "it won't be long"? Just so I can pop back and gloat...
Oh well, at least you're trying to something constructive with your butt-hurt, I guess... Have fun with your AO (I couldn't stand it myself).
Guild Wars must have some kind of record for the longest death scene in the gaming industry, I mean, it's been dying for years now according to forum trolls.
