Something I'd like to see for our characters

With the events we are seeing that are leading up to GW2 such as war in Kryta, I'd kinda like to see a few events talking directly about what our heroes end up doing... You know some events just for them about what they do or how and where they end up settling down.

You know, like rescuing Mrs. Right from the jaws of doom and falling in love or something like that.

Might be balled up into a Razah questline in GW2.

Or GW1.

Either way, I agree with you.

Seems like something that everybody has to develop on their own for their own characters.

They could have quests in GW2 that answers a bunch of historical questions about our previous toons and their heroes and what Mhenlo and Cynn end up doing along with all those other loose ends that Anet could tie up.

I'd like it if there was quest chain that branched off multiple times so that the destiny of our characters is more personal rather than something generic, cliched, and non-personal like your example. Sort of like the main story in Dragon Age, if you know what I mean.

I already know what my char is doing. He's gone from hero of tyria to a fat, hedonistic drunkard.

Pretty much took the Elvis Prestley way out. GWAMM is in and of itself a genius mechanism for character progression. Crappy quests that you won't care to play past the second time are nothing to compare.

Yeah, they talked about experiences being individual in GW2 so this would sort of be the way to go. Maybe take into account a few things like class and which game you started from. Like if you are a canthan el, you should get a few different options than a Tyrian warrior or Elonian monk would.

I hope my chars won't be still alive in GW2 times, so the personal background of each of my new chars will be self determined, apart from the heir in HoM. So I hope personal history will be only partially determined from gw1 and most from what you choose in the 2.

Somewhere, a BIG statue of your GW1 character as a reminder of what a great hero (s)he was.

Go to the main plaza in Ebonhawke and look at the big statue.
That's my PvE main.
Now go to Lion's Arch and look at the huge statue.
That's my PvP main, XD.

Why not a few quest dialogues that will affect later dialogue in GW2.

For example, who we pick to side with in War in Kryta.

Think Mass Effect :P

Well if they were to put something in GW2 it probably wont be primary, there will be newcomers to the GW games so they cant mess with the formula of the main game.

Thats a good idea , and why not , if you choose a side , lets say shining blade (good side) or the white mantle (bad side) ,and depending of wich side you choose in GW1 your character then in GW2 will be good or evil ... muaahahahaha

That will be cool !

I think they should make one big content addition where all the dragons awaken in GW1 and every single person dies and nobody can logon to guildwars until guildwars 2 is out Lol. Naw they should just do one hidden book in guildwars where when you find it, before guildwars 2 comes out, you read about every single character, and each 'headline' in the book about that char, has a cut scene or something. while all we gotta do is go through the historical events of what we will be pursuing in guildwars 2. makes things short and simple so that we dont have to do quest chains of complete nothingness to know what happens to others.

The statues thing, that is what the HoM is for

As for the rest, personally I would like to use my imagination like Gennadios over any quest line given ingame cause that way it is more open and more personal than the pre-chosen quests. Actually, to be honest, I have an aftergame for a number of my characters

amass random npcs to worship that large statue once maxed KoaBD in HoM.

Or maybe a little something now and then for our HoM achievements instead of waiting for rewards when GW2 comes around.
