any way to save your survivor when disconnected?
Trader of Secrets
Anyways I just found out that when disconnected, your character will still be present even though you close the program. I just wanted to know if there was any way to get your survivor out of play as soon as disconnected.

I'm sorry there is none, except logging back in and mapping out or moving to safety.

whatever your log out key is(is default then its f12) and the press C
will take you to your character selection screen
YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE YOUR LOG OUT HOTKEY TO A FASTER KEY YOU FEAL MORE CONFORTABLE WITH (when your in a tight spot you need to be able to hit your hotkey plus C fast
the worst enemiy of a potential survivor is lag
good luck
sry didnt read right you CANT save anything in GW

Try reconnecting. Even if it fails I assume it would be better than just exiting GW's

When I was going for survivor, finally got btw, I would just hit X to close the window if I lagged, or got close to dying at any point. Its fast, easy, and it disconnects you. Almost died several times and WOULD have died if I hadn't closed the window. Rebooted game and I still had 0 deaths. It works.

the way is how you make your survivor :
- if you farm it at brawling, you can't save it from a random disconnection
- if someone runs you or farm some quests like fow quests for you, there is much less risks
- if you make it by playing the game normally and taking quests with lots of XP rewards (there are a lot of sidequests in gwen), do it that way : take a backline/midline role, with almost no selfheal skill (apart one emergency one/shadowsteping/recall etc)
and rely on hench/hero healing only.
That way : if you get disconnected, you won't loose your safe position and still can rely on hero healing rather than selfhealing you can't use when disconnected.
If you have a melee char, use a spear or bow and help you team with deepwound or disruption,
if you have a spell caster, go for nuking/damage. If you are a monk go for nuking aswell (RoJ/smiting for example).
If your team doesn't rely on you for team survival, for you healing abilities, then your survival way will be robust against random disconnections.

Most basic problem: when you're disconnected, you can't do ANYTHING - you don't have the conenction to get logged out, relogged, to jump to guild hall, nothing - your command to relog or whatever is not passed on.
If you are connected, of course, you can run away and all. Safest and fastest way out is probably a jump to the guild hall, since it's just two keys far away.

My ritualist survivor d/c'd in the Eternal Grove mission during a boss assault, but my heroes kept me alive.

Best way to reach survivor regardless of lag (almost), is to use ranged weapons/spells against the worms outside Boreal Station in HM.
They're stationary melee targets and thus CAN'T attack you, and you'd have to be REALLY REALLY unlucky to lag into melee range of one and then have it kill you before you could log-out.

Wiki does not mention they have a ranged attack.
Maybe they once did have a ranged attack, if, then not anymore.

If you are disconnected, you have no connection to the Guild Wars servers. So your game client is unable to tell the servers any action. The network message that tells the servers: "user closed the client" cannot be delivered.
So your only option is to stay out of fights when you expect lag or disconnection. From a server point of view, being disconnected is like being afk. And being afk is one of the forbidden actions for aspiring survivors.

I once saved my survivor from dying during a brawl by re-logging back into the character quickly after the disconnect. I ended up in Gunnar's Hold, no deaths.
I assume that logging back into a character will pull them out of whatever instance they were in, saving them from death.

Were you using a skill like Symbiotic Bond or Life Bond? Then it might have looked like the worms were attacking.
