Allow Gwen's Flute into the HoM for GW2 mention?
Sarevok Thordin
Very simple idea...
With the War in Kryta stuff going on perhaps the player could have a chance to get a mention in the future from Gwen's descendant.
Add the green, Gwen's Flute, and in GW2 perhaps he could recognise your own descendants as those from a line of people that had a part in shaping his own line, perhaps giving you an item from his own family or EVEN something of Gwen's personal keepsake.
Since she regarded the player (from Proph) as such an important friend and possibly even a role model this would be quite a nice touch considering Gwen was already a huge point of discussion on the forums prior to EoTN regarding her tapestry shred and such.
This of course all becomes moot if Anet have already snuck a bit of dialogue recognition in there not seen via a monument..

This is kind of silly, and another thing for non-prophecies characters to cry "unfair!" about. Wouldn't doing something like killing the Great Destroyer be enough for recognition?

/Apart from that I dont really see the point of Gwens flute being in the HOM as the player is not related to Gwen and therefore the descendant cant be either.

Bad idea... Every NPC would then see that your the decendant of the idiot who killed the Guardian that kept one of the Dragons at bay....

OP interesting concept, I will give you that, but it does promote unfairness to those who have other campaigns and not prophecies.

The Gwen-related items where given to her after the Great Destroyer was defeated.
Your descendants can't have them.
Wait, you mean the green item?
Hm...
It would be hard for me. I give the item to Gwen [hero] so she still keeps it.

Actually....
Add one green item per category to the possible Hall of Monuments selection.
Gwen's Flute.
Shiro's Blades.
Urgoz's Longbow.
Mallyx's wands.
Kanaxai's Axe.
Dhuum's Scythe.
Traveller's Staff.
Etc.
Gather iconic green items that show trials and feats of the wielders, and add one item per weapon category to allow an alternative choice besides Destroyer and Torment weaponry. This will round out the monument, allowing people to choose different things, as well as provide people who don't like the burnt or insane aesthetic a few alternatives. And each demands little programming, since it is only one item per slot.
Might even add new greens for sword, spear, and shield to give them more iconic options. The Hero's Sword, for example, would be a great way to remember the ghostly hero in prophecies. Add a high level enemy into Torment that appears after doing all the master level quests who is carrying a Spear of the Sun or whatever. And put a shield....somewhere.
It'll add completion to the monument, making it less of a "I spent lots and lots of money buying tormented gemstones/putting all those diamonds to use", and more of a "I have been everywhere, done everything, saved the world, and all I got was this t-shirt. And this loot."

I would like to add a half-eaten blob (once thought to be Gwen) to my HoM but we all know thats not going to happen. While your idea is pretty nice maybe they could introduce it through other means instead of HoM.
Shayne Hawke
I'm fairly sure that if they want a player to interact with Gwen's descendant, there will be some kind of trinket to locate within GW2 itself, and that bringing anything over from the HoM will be unnecessary.
If I had to pick something in the current HoM to serve this purpose though, it would be the LDoA statue.

Only Gwen's flute /unsigned (why only Gwen?)
AJBeast
I think that Gwens flute has enough significance in the lore to warrant a spot in the HoM, but I do agree that there should be others linking to other races. You could do a super hard quest for Ventari or Ronan and get a green weapon, for example. Maybe the Bison Cup or the Crown could be shown too, linking to the Norn, etc etc.

agreed. Gwen's descendants will definitely remember your ancestors if one of them was the Legendary Defender of Ascalon! from gwen's youth. ;-)

"He got killed 50k+ times"
"And then?"
"He got to level 20"
"And then?
"Ascalon got nuked"
"Wow, our great-great-great-granddaddy is indeed a big war hero!"

/signed on the iconic greens, suggested by Shriketalon. Gives the vets something new to undertake.

Given the Prophecies storyline, I don't think you want to be remembered as the cowardly 'hero' who fled Ascalon with that traitor Rurik, leaving the brave and loyal Ascalon people to face the charr alone... seriously, given how emo and angsty Gwen is, I'm surprised she doesn't try to gut Prophecies characters on sight...

Does Gwen even know about all that Rurik business? She was fighting scorpions.
