I was lookin through the PC forumn today and noticed some things. There are alot of threads with literally 100's of views with 0 PC's. This leads me to a couple conclusions...1. the items are so unique that they are just that difficult to PC..or....No-one PC's anymore.
I guess what im wondering is it really worth the space to have that forumn when most items never get PC'ed. I had an item some time ago that was bumped for a full week and never was PC'ed. It was an old school shield. nothing strange or out of the ordinary.
what do the rest of ya think on this?? ill admit it kinda burns my azz when you really would like a good pc from one of the guru's and you cant get one.

If this is in the wrong place move it or kill it.
Is there a point to the PC forumn??

Point is that i think most PC are on items that are so common they are merchant food although they might have r9 and a "nice" skin, so no one cares to PC them since most of them already have been price checked so many times, and like you said a few items are also very hard to pc, specially when it's a new item since they go for high for a short period and price can vary extremly much depending on the buyer. Many semi rare items also drown between all common items.
That's just my idea why it's hard to get a good pc on items nowadays

Cronk the answer is simple. Many of us old time traders dont feel warm and welcome here as of late. Its hard to ask those of us left to do something like pc hundreds of items for the community on a site that doesnt provide for us. There is a thread for posting your ultimate weapons where old school traders full of vast knowledge of items values would post what they have or got recently. Other high enders would converse and discuss each others items and get to know each other more that way and help each other to find items for their collections. Now the noose is tight and all the friendly replies to each other are deleted and its against the rules to do anything but post screenshots of your items. Yes that thread has been littered with posts of screenshots of insignificant weapons that do not belong there but it was ok we were still able to have a place to converse. Now with todays change to Ventari's we have lost yet another place held dear to the high end communities heart, the High End sub forum. So im sure you can understand how disheartening it is for the high enders with the knowledge to pc to actually spend hours of their time to do the service of pc'ing items.
I wish there was a sub forum for high end discussions without strict rules. It would be nice to have a home to meet and great and share memories of trades and collections from your 5 years of playing this game.

Cleavage, thanks for the reply/ Im not gonna lie man i have no clue whats happened over the last week or so.. why did High End go tits up?? Why were the old timers shoved to the curb? Ive been playin this game since its incept date and have always had great feedback and repore with all the guys.
I even used to bug Stuey G and some of the other cats if i needed a quick PC and never did they treat my with disrespect. So what happened? Why did High go the way of the Doo Doo??

@ Cronk regarding the original topic...
The PC Forum is made up of fellow traders who are sometimes able to share their expertise on what an item is worth. Personally, I think the lack of responses in a lot of threads is due to it being difficult finding people wanting to commit to such a thing. It's a completely voluntary service and no one there is required to go through every thread and search their brain for what might be a good answer. It's a tougher job to do than most would think. It's there as a tool for those who might get a good result.
@ Cleavage regarding high enders doing PCs....
Many didn't even before today's change. No one is being 'kicked to the curb' here. It's a very convoluted matter, but at the end of the day, there aren't too many people willing to step out from the shadows and volunteer to actively moderate the forums. It's not an easy task, and I would hope that people at least understand that it takes many, many hours a day to moderate just the Ventari's forums. A change such as the one made today will help.

Excellent idea.
In fact, it was a good enough idea for us to do this:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/t...post-f295.html
Guidelines will be fairly lax. We just ask that people respect each other and attempt to make posts that contribute.

One idea, wich i guess would take to much time also.
Make a list.
Like the other handfull main items price check topics.
I am pretty sure alot times there r PC on same items.
oh well....guess i'll end up merching perhaps valuable gold items then.

Folks have tried to make lists over the years. It tends to wind up a lot more complicated and a lot harder to maintain than people expect.
There do seem to be PC requests for the same item over and over, yes.
Contrary to what it seems, forum search actually does work really well for looking up PC data. Put the name of what you're looking for in quotes in the keyword field.

One type of thread that I never bother with in the PC forum is the massive wall of dozens and dozens of items (For instance, there's one in there now with 18 golds, about 30 minis and some consumables). Expecting a stranger to PC every item in your Xunlai when you're too lazy to use the search function or check the stickies is (imo) preposterous.
I could've sworn that there was a sticky (or something) requesting that PC requests be limited to a handful of items, but now I can't find it. Maybe the forum needs a hard-and-fast rule about the number of items per post. *And* a reminder to use "search" before posting at all.

While I do agree with jimbo that I'm less likely to even look through a thread with 20+ items titled "Bob needs PC," I don't think there should be any rule against it.
If people want to try replying to such a thread, they're more than welcome to! I've responded to such threads now and then over the years, giving best guess answers for stuff I had any idea about. There's nothing wrong with offering a reply on only the item(s) you have experience with.
There are tips/guidelines, not hard and fast rules, about keeping the number of items per thread small in the second post on the rule sticky in PC
