Ok I've had a thread in the sell section up for 2-3 days. I've been trying to close it for the past 20 hours. It has yet to be closed. Am I allowed to post a different thread? Or do I have to wait until someone closes it?

Short Answer:

If you want to open a new thread in the same Ventari's section as your older thread:
- make sure to clearly mark the very top line of the old thread's original post with something like "*** CLOSED by Seller ***" and
- make sure you wait at least 24 hours from the last time you posted on the old thread before starting the new one.

You do not need to wait for the symbol to appear on your thread as long as you have clearly marked the very top line as closed and waited at least 24 hours from your last post there. You do not need to PM a Ventari's mod to get the thread locked in order to follow the rules.

thor maxtwo - Since it seemed to worry you, I went ahead and found your old thread (which you had clearly marked as closed, thank you) and locked it for you. You would've been fine to open a new thread in Sell as long as it was 24 hours after when you posted this, your most recent post in your own Sell thread(s) and after you had edited your OP saying the thread was closed.

Use on the top post, delete all the content and enter: "*** CLOSED BY OP ***"
If you fail to do this, your thread may be viewed as open and result in a ban if you open another thread in the same section.
Writing: "please close my other threads" in the new thread does Not clear you of responsibility! - You will still be banned if the old thread has not been edited as shown above!
- Remember: Do not bump your thread to the front to say "closed", this will result in a ban.
... In Ventari's, if you want to start a new thread in the same section where you have an old thread, you need to do the followingEDIT the original post of your older thread so that the top line clearly says the thread is closed by you and WAIT at least 24 hours from the last time you posted (either the OP or a bump) on your old thread in the same section. If you do both of those, you won't get in trouble with the moderators for multiple thread violations.

Users can not lock their own threads in Ventari's (except for the Giveaway section.) Marking the top line of the original post is the standard we use instead.

I hope this helps.

Cheers & Good Luck!
