After not playing for a couple of years, i decided to get back into the game and buy both Nightfall and EOTN. Nightfall was all fine and dandy but once i looked through my EOTN box, some of the contents were missing, including the activation card :x HMV wont refund me without a receipt and NCSoft support seemed to not even read the ticket i sent off, is there anything i can do? The box was properly sealed and had no breaks in the packaging, it seems like it was a pre-release pack or something, no manual or card. I also took pictures of the box and contents when sending a ticket to NCSoft.
These are the emails between me and NCSoft.
Recently I have purchased a retail Guild Wars: Eye Of The North unused boxed game from a HMV store in London, after discarding the receipt, I checked the game box and it contained no activation card key? I have purchased three other editions of guild wars and they have all had key cards, the store will not refund me without a receipt, Is there anything i can do to get the game running on my account?

It's not really something nc-soft can do anything about, it's between you and the shop.

You really should not have lost your receipt. There have been cases of missing cards before, it's not unheard of. Your only option is to try and reason with the store. Do you remember who sold it to you, maybe that person remembers you. Did you pay with a debit/credit card? Maybe they will accept a statement showing you paid such and such sum at their store on this and that day.

So basically your saying.. im f*cked? :P
cosyfiep
did you buy using cash or credit??
Cash not much you can do
Credit you can contact your card and dispute it.

Stores often try the "no refund or return without a receipt" line. No store has to change or refund an item simply because the owner does not like the colour. But where an item fails, shops do not have the right to demand a receipt. A credit card slip or statement or even the say-so of a person who was present when the products were purchased, are legally enough. |
So as long as you didn't use cash, you should be able to get a refund, or a replacement even without a receipt.
At least if you are in the UK. Not sure about elsewhere.

Not sure if this will help, but I couldn't find my key card at first either. If there's a shield-shaped piece of cardboard with a perforated shape etched near the edge, you need to rip of the perforated sides and the "shield" should open up and expose the key.

you should have no problem getting an exchange also the EOTN activation card thing if i recall looks like a Shield and you have to peal it open
