Was Anet right to ban me for this?

Hey everyone,
I'm an old GWGURU member and have been away from Guru for about 2 years now. Here's the reason why.
So about 2 years ago I got perma banned. I had everything I wanted on my account. All the professions I wanted to play. Respectable armor (15+ 15K's, 4 Obsidian armors), decent weapons, basicly: A very good Guild Wars account.
Then one day I got banned. Why? Well, me and my friend Alex played a lot of GW, we exchanged eachothers passwords. He GAVE me his password. When he was playing Guild Wars less and less I decided to take items from his account and traded them to my account (without telling him though). When he logged back in he was thinking he got hacked so he send a support ticket to NCSoft or Anet or wherever they end up.
3 Days later I find my account banned. I explained everything on how he GAVE me his password. I quoted the user agreement where it said that 'you are liable for every action conducted true your own account'. And now, this is what I don't get... my friend gave me his password, knowing the risk that I could do whatever I want on his account and I've explained this to Anet, yet they still don't unban...
After 2 years now I decided to contact Anet again asking for an unban, but they are still refusing. They claim they reviewed all the tradelogs and think they are right on their end.
I know I'm a backstabbing d-bag for taking items from his account. But I didn't 'hack' his account or used any other 3th-party programs on my computer, ever! You know the risk when you give away your password...
So what do you guys think about this?

I think you are a d-bag for taking his stuff and deserve whatever punishment they give you.
People like you are the reason that the general populace is intolerable.

So yes your friend, and I would hope he was smart enough to be an ex friend was hacked even though he gave you the key so to speak.
cosyfiep
yes, you did something wrong and you suffered the consequences.

He did give me his password. I gave mine too...
Eragon Zarroc
it was his fault for trusting you. did he not ask you if you were the one that took the stuff before sending a ticket?

No, I didn't have any contact with him after the heist. My account just suddenly got banned.
And that's what I'm saying. (I know it was very low from me to do) But why give away your password to a person you've never met IRL (he was an In-game friend) knowing there's a risk of that person stealing everything you own...

You have a fitting guild name...

It was his fault for sharing his info. He gave it to you knowing that you could possibly take his stuff. This said, you shouldn't really be banned for his stupid error.
However, can you prove that he gave you his info voluntarily? Screenshot? You can say that he gave it to you voluntarily all you want, but unless you have proof, you are guilty as a hacker until proven innocent sorry

You do know sharing other people's account info is against their rules too...right?

Yeah... Like Theo said... Enjoy your ban and have a nice day.
