Buying extra character slot with cellphone
Schlez
Hey all,
I'm not really sure if this is the place to post it but please move it if I'm wrong.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows if I can pay by cellphone in Germany when buying an extra character slot or do I have to call by a land line phone?
Thanks,
Schlez

You can't call someone up and buy slots. You need to buy them through the ingame store. You cannot access the internet by calling someone, so the answer to your question is no. You should be able to buy slots from anything that has internet access (and can load GW), including your phone. Wouldn't recommend doing it on your phone though (if you're doing it on a phone and not on a PC, then you're probably in a public place, where you wouldn't want to put any private or money related details).

What I meant was in the ingame store there was a number for me to call when I clicked "Buy with Phone" to get my PIN. However when I called with my cell, tmobile told me that they could not find the number or something but when I looked on the support site for the list of carriers accepted by GW, tmobile was on the site.

Why don't you just buy one from the in game store?...

Well I don't want to use my credit card and I'd rather pay with my cellphone than with my landline phone.

He/she means about using the phone option thing in the in game store? it can be used for buying extras i think.
By the way in the in game store it asks you to ring a number, or you put your number in i think and it deducts the total from your phone balance/phone bill? not sure how it works but the price is £7.50 compared to £3.99 when just using the store. i'd recommend using credit card even if you don't want to rather than paying all this extra money for something so small.
you could always just buy another account which is much cheaper for each char slot

Well I'm buying it in Germany where it's only one or two Euros more expensive which is fine with me.
My question is whether the pay by phone works with cellphones or if it only works with the land-line.

Well, I never knew about this phone business, but if you don't want to use your credit card (understandable), you could buy a disposable card that you put money on and throw away when used. I used one when I got the Bonus Mission Pack. You'll want to check to see if the cards are compatible with GW though.
Schlez
Do you mean a Guild Wars game card or a disposable credit card? I don't think you can get either of those here in Germany. :/
Marty Silverblade
Yeah, I was referring to a disposable credit card type of thing. I know that they're hard/impossible to get in some areas, but maybe if you ask around you'll be able to find somewhere that stocks them. I didn't realise they had them where I live but they did. You'll probably be able to use anything that you can put money on, like gift cards perhaps. Perhaps see if the decently sized retailers stock the cards. You'll want to ask on Guru/ask Anet if they accept those types of cards before you buy one though.

As Germany a place I do not know much about but in UK we have the Pre pay credit card
Try google for you area on mastercard/Visa pre pay or one of the main credit card companies that ncsoft accept for your country.
There should be this area as companies wnat your business
Mines charges 1% per transaction so its a safe and easy way should the card fall into wrong hands as I only top it up if I am considering buying something

I've tried looking through google but it only mentions north america and the 7-eleven guild wars gift cards. I'm going to try to go to the Gamestop here in germany to see if it has some gift cards.
Would it work if I asked a friend of mine to send a gw gift card from the States to me in Germany?

You said that T-Mobile was allowing SurfPin, but the NCSoft European Support says only in the UK. You need to call your provider and check if they allow it in Germany. Remember that outside your "home" area for your provider, rules change. The same applies to land-line; check with your provider.
As for the "gift" card type, it seems in Europe there is the Paysafecard. You can put money on it for purchases and it exists in Germany. paysafecard.com
NCSoft accepts transactions with this type of card.

Hi, Im sure that teher are prepaid Visa cards here in Germany. I saw an advert a while ago in the Raiffeisen Bank around the corner here. But Im afraid I cant say what the exact name was that they called them. The Dresdner Bank also has them.
