Today I tried logging into Guild Wars only for it to tell me my account has been terminated for payment fraud. But the problem is I've never even bought anything from the game itself or any of its affiliates.
I've tried emailing the support they have on the website but I got an e-mail back that not only was sent to spam the title was Aion (don't play it) with french words (I'm English) and says
Check the security risk, they found a security risk to your account may have been compromised, the account has been locked! If the account is yours, please visit you at *non geniuine ncsoft site* authentication, if you do not authenticate, the account will be permanently closed!
We hope to see you!

If I click the link Mcafee just says its a forged site thats after my account which isn't suprising consdiering the way the e-mail back was written.
So I'm confused on what to do right now, e-mailing the support only to get a dodgy e-mail back isn't exactly helping my confidence of getting this resolved anytime soon. While searching google to see if anyone else had this problem I came across a thread here a while back in november talking about people getting banned for it even though they were innocent, but they'd actually bought something.
Has anyone heard of a similar problem with this? At least with the support sending back wierd e-mails. I apprieciate any help anyone can give me on this as I'd rather not have nearly five years worth of play taken away due to a mistake.
Mod Edit: Removed clickable link to account stealing site

I don't think that the email you received was related to the one you sent - that one looks like it's a random phishing spam mail that just happened to arrive while you were expecting a reply. (Unless it contained a quote of the email you sent to support, in which case there's a serious problem with NCsoft!, but this is the first I've heard of that happening if that's so.) You ought to get a genuine reply from support within 24 hours.
I haven't heard of payment fraud without any payments ever being made, but like you said there was a problem with a lot of people getting banned by mistake a while back, and I've noticed a couple of people posting more recently with the same problem. It sounds like they've messed up where your account's concerned, so once they investigate it they should figure that out and unban you. If you don't hear back by tomorrow, try contacting them again. If that doesn't work, try Gaile on the wiki. Good luck.

Make sure you are at the actual guild wars website and not a fake one...

That is the official guild wars support site.

Well it should hopefully be the official site because I went straight from the log in client.
Seems the e-mail WAS actually extreme coincedence (that or they're tracking e-mails sent ) I've had another e-mail apparently from the firewall they use saying my e-mail couldn't get through after 4 hours and will be retried for 5 days so just hope for something by then.
I did also notice I'd had another phising e-mail in my spam box from about a month ago although this one was ALOT more obvious due to the way it was set out

This is why you DO NOT try to contact Support via email (especially when it's is something as important as this). Use the ONLINE Support feature. Geez. :\

This happened to my account once before and I contacted [email protected] via email and they resolved it quickly. They only needed to verify that it was my account.

I got the same problem. A while back, it said I did not have the right password but I never reset it before so I changed it. Now it said I have been terminated for payment fraud. Also, I checked my email and it said someone from TWO IP address reset my password on 05/14/10. It wasn't me. Nice! Well anyway, I contacted their online support to fix my problem. Must change my password to something super complicated after I get this resolved. FML
Hope this get resolved quickly. I want to try out my Mesmer after this update.

As stated:
- Go to the GW support via the true web-site, don't do e-mail support.
- That is a phishing e-mail, ignore it.
- Regarding the payment fraud - go to http://www.guildwars.com/support/ and use that to contact support.
-- lodge a support ticket/question via the website linked via there.
- In the future, read the stickies - they are there to help you.
