Ok not sure if this belongs to site feedback or forum ideas, but thought this was the best place, and as you mods aprove this message first anyway I thought I could post it Please move if not in the correct place.

Ok so a few days ago I got banned. The one time I used Ventari for a long time, and I get banned lol. And I know it was stupid of me to close the thread with a new post within 24 hours (though I think 5 days are a bit long for that , but thats not where this thread is about). You give such quick bans to keep Ventari clean and I apriciate that. Though when I was banned I came to notice that I could not answer Q&A and others aswell.

So what I was thinking is, depending of the sort of ban ofcourse, but lets assume in Ventari, why not keep the ban restricted to a specific subforum? So if I get banned because of violation of Ventari rules, I get banned in Ventari. That way I can still answer questions of those in need, and draw things for people in Nolani (I could not because I had no more reference ) So people are kind of suffering from my ban aswell (ofcourse there are other to answers those questions lol )

What do you mods think?

Tommy,

I don't know if there's a way to ban people in specific forums. Regardless of that, when someone breaks the rules, it is their own doing and for that there are consequences. Although it is kind of you to worry about others, I have a feeling it is not a likely case for the majority. People forfeit the right to contribute for a temporary amount of time across all of GWG Forums if they get banned.

There is no easy way to ban someone from a specific forum, sadly. It can be done with usergroup permissions, but that means manually moving people back and forth between usergroups for every violation - not really a feasible option.

However, there might be a vBulletin mod that allows you to do it, I'll keep my eye out. Your idea certainly merits discussion, though I tend to lean towards Jenn's viewpoint that very few banned members are people that would otherwise be contributing elsewhere on the forum.

True enough, very few banned will contribute elsewhere then Ventari. Though (and this is not the case, but maybe in further vBulletin mods) if it's not hard to ban someone from a specific forumsection, you will do no harm, they normally won't be there, they now are not there, nothing changes, but when people normally are there, other people who somehow (sort of) depend on them, will get the blame of this persons ban aswell. But if vBulletin doesn't let you. Was just an idea that came to mind

Just wanted to know something...I got banned sometimes in one part of the forum...and i can't access the forums completely after that...why is that a preferred banning method...that just wasted time for people...yes it makes it easy for you but it would be better if we got a ban one part such as ventari, as i have , but be able to access other sections such as pvp...long bans can be annoying...
