So age groups - whats represented? Not that Ive done much mingling in game, but I do get the impression the core is of a younger age, in the teens. Is this true of the forums too? The one off payment was a big factor of desirability for me purchasing the game in the first place, and I can understand this is a big attraction for the young uns too. But yeah just curious to see if folk above 20, and indeed above 30 are represented in large numbers.

I bought this game at the age of 16 and am 21 now but I am amased that more then 75% (not based on hard facts) of people that told me there age (I can only trust if they speak the truth) are older then 25. I also noticed some people saying that there parents/there childeren also had an account and played the game.

Im impressed! And well, relieved...being a non-teenager myself, Im always aware of the potential judgement that will be passed by non-believers that I play computer games. Ive heard enough 'forget what other people say' arguments to last a lifetime, but the natural reaction to people mockings is pangs of embarrassment, I admit. This is always appeased by fellow soon to be afflicted with athritis-ites, enjoying the experience with me. So yeah, mind is at rest somewhat. still dont think Im ready to engage in convos with folk I know about it, but hey one step at a time.
The majority is always going to be 22-35.It's already researched fact.

I dunno where one would look to find out, but I'm curious now about the age range in other MMOs, especially WoW.

In spite of the fact that the average age of computer and video game players is 30 (Entertainment Software Association, 2005), the articles in the special issue seem to perpetuate the assumption that mainly children and adolescents play video games. |
