Hi guys, I am going to dust out my PC and I need to know how to open the case on my Dell Inspiron 530. I tried unscrewing the two screws and slide it.. but there seems to be a clutch on the side panel. If anyone could provide more information on how to open this case, I would be so happy.

THANKS!

I don't have a Dell, but that appears in every way to be a standard ATX case, remove the two screws retaining the side panel, grip the raised 'handle' at the rear of the panel, and pull it so as to slide the panel back a little...

Edit: that model appears to have no additional retaining method for the side panel, it's probably just a little stiff...

You have the remove all 4 of those screws holding on the outer shell. It comes off as 1 piece. I had a HP that was set up the same way, and that was the only way those panels would come off. Mind you it might be different, but mine looked very similar what is the picture.

That set of screws. On my case it was those 4 screws that were holding the shell together. Once they came off, the outer shell slid right off, and allowed fairly easy access to the inside.

Yeah, that won't help... the only way those side panels could be connected is via the top panel, which clearly looks like a separate panel riveted to the case

I stand by the two screws and tug method.

I just checked the manual and it has 2 screws and you slide it off on it's side.

I used to own this case, just remove the 2 on the right in the pic and slide that panel rearward about 1/2 inch and tawdaw!

yep, don't be afraid to tug on it and wiggle it a little, some a tighter than others.
