The thing that I think sucks is that the items thackery needs are a PITA to get alone. If you don't have them from an event or quest, GL trying to find them. Take the honeycombs. I used them after I got them because I never thought, hmm there's going to be a new event 2-3 years from now that'll require them. Apple ciders? My characters don't drink so I didn't keep any that I got.

Um, mini event rant. Flowchart included.

Thanks for the chart. I hadn't been keeping up with this for a while (was playing SC2 beta instead), so I was sorta lost when I came back. It definitely is confusing. Even die hard fans like myself can't keep up with what is going on when I came back from a 2-3 week break.
And if I can't figure it out... I guarantee you 90% of the game population isn't either. (example, I actually understood the finale of Lost, unlike most people on Lost forums right now who clearly are getting it wrong).

you dont need the ciders---3 or 4 of any other the other ales will do to get the final dialogue. (I only had 2 ciders, but 4 of my characters used others ales and were able to get the final dialogue).

Honeycombs are fairly easy to get btw; I have two and half stacks from infrequent Nicholas stuff.

Seems that completion of EOTN is enough to take your char supply farming (escorts). Think it requires all people to have completed EOTN and at at least 1 person have completed the annoying long dialogues for falcen to appear (dialogue aspect could also be account wise as I've done it on one character, with this account-wide dialogue effect required for all players). Just means you don't have to sit through all the dialogues

It's easy to check if a character can go along on Courier runs: check a WiK zone, if you see peacekeepers, you can do Falken.

Well, I hadn't actually participated in any of this until now, and I'm really forced to agree with the OP. This needs to be much more organized. The average player who doesn't access wiki/guru and doesn't have guildies who do frequently probably won't be able to engage in any of this. Hell, I had to do a search on guru to find this thread just to figure out where Lion's Keep is and how to get in.
EDIT: With regard to GW2, if they plan on taking away little quest icons in place for this type of event thing, they're going about it the wrong way.

I actually think the lack of quest log is a good thing. besides the fact that there arent any real quests (save for the bounty and the scavenger hunt), the fact that you have to find these things makes it that tad bit more interesting, I feel.
but that is just my opinion. I dont always like things handed to me on a silver platter |

I agree that exploration is a big part of the fun, but 99% of players had (and many still don't have) a clue on how to get all the dialogue. It's a nightmare and any fun gained by a small few isn't worth the confused masses.

Problem is that is is not feasible and instead you get everything spoiled because you have to read threads/wiki.
Simply put, you have choice of being frustrated and confused or being throroughly spolied.

Bugger - I didn't know that. Got stacks of Hunter's Ale and never bothered trying them :/

Agree, something else besides a log in message should be there. I had informed guildies about it shortly after they quests were out and none of them heard about it before my mention of it. lol. Now everyone asks what they gotta do to get through the content/dialogs. *smashes keyboard*
