Is there any software which will give me password protection to my pen drive? I want to keep my pen drive or 1 partition on my pen drive inaccessible for others. Few softwares provide password protection for this purpose, but it is possible only with that PC on which the particular software is executed & not possible with other computers on which you are using pen drive & where that software is not installed.

In the past my experiences with encrypted flash drives have been negative. I think your best bet is that if you want to share the flash drive but not all data on it, use some sort of file encryption. You could use 7-Zip, it uses a proprietary 7z format and uses AES-256 standard encryption, the entire program is 100% free. Only thing is now, people can still delete your encrypted files, but they can never access them if they don't have the password, and if the password is extremely strong they won't be breaking the AES-256 encryption any time within the next few centuries.

true crypt is also handy.
it can create a container that swallows all space on your disk. but it will look just like a large file on your drive wich noone can acces.
to acces it. you must manually assign a virtual drive letter to it.

however i would like to have something that would encrypt your usb stick rather than ecrypt the files

^Nearly. It's a sort-of software/hardware combo question, so I stuck it in general.

For the record, I don't have a clue ^_^

This is usually pretty true when it comes to encrypted flash drives

Just throw your files into a RAR and password protect it. I can tell you how in more depth if you wish. Just PM Me.
