wtf portals?

wtf...this JUST started happening. I hope my DAT file isn't corrupted....any1 else have this happen?

Notice how the portal goes right through objects....including myself.
Any ideas?

Yup, my DAT file was corrupt. Deleted my old DAT & re-downloaded via -image & all has been fine ever since.

Mine were doing this when Nightfall came out, interestingly enough, I played with one or two settings in the ATi Control Panel in Windows and they went back to normal. Try some settings in your graphics panel if you have one (In Control Panel) before going all out and deleting dat.

What was cool was I could see where portals were coming up without opening map but yeah it actually effected my FPS so i had to find out how to get rid of em.

alright, ill mess around with my ATI catylist a bit.

fixed! Just turned my 3D from high quality low performanced, to balanced. Soooooo happy I didn't have to re download DAT

That is exactly the setting I played with!

well that was the last thing I messed with so i figured it was a good place to start. It was weird that it didn't make that change INSTANTLY though...I logged in a couple times before that took place.

Yeah I think you have to totally shut GW down then restart it for the effect to take place. Its pretty weird that that slider in ATi only affects one thing in GW...the newer portals.

EDIT: I think I have some screens from when Nightfall came out in Oct 2006 with these portals on my system doing that too... gonna go have a look and see if I can find em haha.
