Petition to change : lower suspension duration 4 unacceptable char name (code=045)!

Petition: I would like to suggest that all 1st time infractions be reduced to 24 hours and limited only to character reported (not the whole account). Please sign below if support. Thanks!

Did you know that your whole account can be suspended for this?
Shouldn't it be listed officially with EULA to inform customers/players?
Even if was (which isn't now!), isn't a 3 day acct-wide suspension excessive on a first warning for a minor item like unacceptable character name ?

Background -
Due to personally experiencing an account suspension for the 1st time yesterday (72 hours for an unacceptable name = Code 045), I was unaware that this kind of temporary ban could happen let alone for the whole account rather than just the problem character and then for multiple days given it was a minor infraction and happened on the 1st "warning". After looking up the code on various sources (NC soft support, GW website, and Wiki), I found very little info and no details for duration listed anywhere. So finally had to open a thread here to get any input on this mainly to learn if I have to pay for the change name since this is now a service with a fee. [However original thread below was closed due to no "complaining" allowed on GWG ]

So I hope that just like the petition against bot-ing that was allowed and even led to action by Arena net, please do not close this and look forward to hearing feedback from other GW players. All those for real change, read and respond with your support.

This is all pretty common knowledge.

Look at it this way, it's only 3 days and I know for a fact that the weather there is nice right now. Go outside and enjoy it.

Sorry, but no. It's 72 hours, and only the first time. I'm sure you can find something else to do for 3 days. This is not unreasonable and I dont see why they need to publicize the lenght of ban for each infraction.

I think a character exclusive ban is not possible due to technological limitations since the existing bans are handled at login and not character selection. Also, I believe allowing the player to play other characters would lessen the impact of the sanction.

As for duration, the duration of the first offense suspension is not very long.

Use a clean name next time, what was the name you used by the way?

Good question from "The Scorpion King"! I wish I knew... The message at main page does not say and can't login in check. Wish they would have just sent me a message to email registered for my NC soft ID (had to go thru verification so they know valid!) about the specify character and given me an option to instantly correct the problem which I am more than willing to do. But guess I have to wait! p.s. most chars on this acct were made over 3 years ago and only wish they did more screening/filtering at the creation step rather than afterwards

That tells you it affects your account. In addition, in nice gold lettering, it refers to the "Conduct Breached and Outcomes" link, which ~ again ~ tells you it's a mark against your account.

Well I did find those pages yesterday, but could not get any details on the suspension period durations in that "escalating suspension system" Guess everyone here is perfect and never ever makes a mistake. Such fine righteous indignation from all the greater than thou I guess is expected right now during the post-ban period maybe should have waited to bring this up next week LOL ; I really thought would get some more support to shorten the timeframe down from 3 days since that could really wipe a whole weekend with guildee activities; oh well.. enjoy your pride and I'll try logging back in on Friday night to see which needs a name change

No. I'm sure you made some suggestive name for giggles from your friends, and its damn time Anet stopped letting you guys get such leeway. Its only a temporary ban anyways, THREE DAYS. Are you telling me you don't have friends/activities/other games to keep you occupied for THREE DAYS?

Anet is well within their rights to finally crack down on the bs from players, and if you ask me the ban wasn't long enough. If they banned people a full week for suggestive names we'd see a LOT less. I'm not sure if it'll tell you which old name was inappropriate, but I know that the system will force you to change the name of that particular character.

EDIT @Doc: It's not that none of us have made a mistake, but many of us accept that we made mistakes and took our punishment. For example a few years back I was banned for cursing out some moron in LA, but different story.

Thanks for constructive critism on my name (which still don't know which and if ever constitutes inappropriate as any other "sensitive" user can report on you!) selection from folks like.. "Thrilla Killa", "byteme!", & "Afro Samuri" ; Guess I will have to consider the source. Well to anyone out there that feels the same as I do (thinks 3 days is too long for 1st warning) but just too scared to say so for fear of the flaming might get, speak up now and don't let the haters win!
