I just bought a new barebones system to replace my long-overheating QX6700 rig. The new system is an i3 530 from Antec and so far so good.

Thing is, I get odd readings from Everest about my eVGA GTX260-216. I did before the change, but put it down to the dying system.

it looks to be in its low power state. if that's the case, then there's nothing to worry about.

I'll run something exciting and see if I can get the figures out of everest at the same time.

(edit)Yep, various Steam apps and GW show all is normal - I'm a nidiot.

Indeed, 2D power mode versus 3D acceleration mode, and then there are 2x 3D acceleration modes. The delta multiplier is responsible for that in GT200 and G90/92. In Fermi, it's different, thanks to different structure of the chip. That's why idle power is significantly higher on Fermi chips, or at least one of the many reasons.
