Okay so here's the deal moderators.
It happened more than once now that I get a ban I don't deserve.
Yesterday I got a ban for an early bump, this is what happened:
I first posted a bump, but then I saw it was 5 mins too early so I deleted it at once so I wouldn't get a ban, then I waited the time that is needed before you can post again (think it was 7 ½ hours or w/e) and then posted the bump. I had that post up for like 10 secs, and when you delete a post the thread will go back to the original spot it was before the post was added, right? so it didn't affect anything, and I did it so I could follow your rules. It resulted in a 1 day ban just cause I was trying Not to get a ban..
And it wasn't the first time.
Some months ago this also happened to me:
I was having an auction here and then someone posted B/O on my item. Then I posted a bump saying:
Bump. "Name" won this bidding. I'll try to contact him ingame
I never closed the thread, since it could happen that I couldn't catch that person ingame or he/she changed his mind. I never wrote that I closed the thread or anything, I just said I was gonna try to catch that person ingame.
And ofcourse it results in a 2 day ban for "Bumping a Thread to Close it"
To be honest that's bulls**t if you ask me. Didn't deserve those 2 bans, and I know for a fact it happened to alot of my friends aswell.
I really think you should give out your bans better and not just toss them away like that. Cause atleast I got really pissed off. And I'm getting tired of getting those such bans all the time. Just saying this cause most likely will people eventually, if they keep getting these bans, stop use guru. I mean it messed up my whole sell thread just because of something I didn't do, now I have to restart my thread.

Edit: Okay if it isn't moved back down to it's original place I can understand it still counts as a bump, and then understand why I got banned. I somehow remembered that when I did that some other time earlier it was moved back to original location, but must have been wrong then.
Appreciate the info & answers. And yes I know that you can get away from ban by closing thread & then make new in 24 hours, but I thought it was unessecary (or however it's spelled) since I missed with 5 mins & believed that you could just delete and it would go back to normal.
At that point, it would be much easier if you could delete and it would get back to normal if you delete the post in like maybe 1 min ratio from when you post the thing.
Don't know if it's possible or dead call, but ye it would help to make it easier to fix small things like that, cause it's kinda annoying to close a whole sell thread and remake it for just missing 10-15 mins on early bump or w/e.
Thanks again Jenn for answers & info
Keep getting bans that are wrong

With regards to the first ban you mentioned...
When you bump a thread, it gets pushed to the front, right? However, when you deleted that early bump, it doesn't push your thread back down, it stays at the top. When you bumped again several hours later, that just means you bumped it to the top again without waiting 24 hours.
We're not going to ban you for bumping 5 minutes early. However, if you ever do bump early and are worried you'll get banned, there are policies outlined in the Guidelines designed to help you:

...............(etc)............... If you discover you have accidentally bumped early:
immediately edit the top post as you would when closing it.
We are not unreasonable, if we can see you immediately closed the thread, you can avoid a ban.
You must wait 24 hours before you post a new thread. As for your second concern about your bumping to close ban, well... you were not banned. You received a warning.
However, I see the ambiguity in where the 'bumping to close' does not fully address all possible situations. Users should always refrain from bumping a thread to indicate that the item is going to be sold to X person, etc. We have a guideline update coming out within the next few days (as well as some other big changes to Ventari's!!!) that will address this ambiguity.
Thank you for bringing your concerns forward. We're always glad to see people taking initiative when they believe they've been unfairly treated.
