TexMod problem
Puebert
So, I recently started playing again and I'd used TexMod before without any problems, but now I can't get it to work. When I hit "run", the game looks exactly the same as if I didn't even use TexMod. I tried re-downloading it, and the package but still nothing happens. I also did the "-image" thing.
I did a search here and saw this thread. They were talking about .dat file and moving those files, but I don't understand how to do that/if I should.
Am I missing something really obvious? Or are my only solutions to reinstall GW or do some funky stuff with .dat?
If it matters, here's some random info that I think may be helpful:
Target Application:
GW.EXE
C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe
Selected Package:
TYRIA_CARTOGRAPHY_GWEN (Daywalker's)
Logging Mode:
[x]Draw Control and Texture Info
[x]Show Texture on upper left corner
[x]Replace Texture (with a green texture)
[ ]Alternative Method
[ ]Translucent

Make sure you are starting it from the packages screen not the logging screen. If that helps...
Puebert
Doesn't work no matter where I start it.

Hmm, I'm going to need to sit on this one for a while because it's been some time since I actually used it in Guild Wars. I mean, I've had a few cases where I needed to restart GW once or twice before the mod would kick in... nothing restricting me permanently though.
Oh... one more thing, you using GW in Direct X and not OpenGL mode? TM is a DX application.

Like he said before, make sure you are running Texmod in Package Mode, not Logging Mode.
Also, set it to run with Adminstrator Privledges. Right click Texmod and go to Properties. Under Compatibility, check the box at the bottom that says "Run as Administrator". That should hopefully solve your problem.
If not, make sure the mod isn't way outdated as well. Sometimes really old mods won't work anymore after alot of the new updates. As well, make sure there isn't an update when you run texmod. If you click run, and an update starts instead of going straight to the game, you'll have to exit game and run it again.
Hope that helps

That version of the mod is outdated. Download the latest version from the wiki and try again.

-Edit-
I just downloaded the Complete Cartography Made Easy Collection from the official wiki and it still doesn't work. :/

Since I'm also having some problems with texmod, I figured instead of making my own thread I'd migrate here.
Basically, I can download texmod with no problem, but can't do anything with it. Meaning that the one thing I want to do with it (cartographer) isn't working (along with more) but it seems my computer won't recognize the .tpf and can't download something that is .tpf (ie. Cartography made easy.tpf) Any tips?
And obviously Peuburt, I can't help you. Although I suggest downloading the latest everything.

Right click Texmod and select Run as Administrator when you run it. Not sure why you can't see the option in properties, but it should be there. You running Vista or a different operating system?
Puebert
I'm using XP. When I try to run it as an administrator it says I need a password (leaving it blank doesn't work) but no one on my computer has a password so I don't know what it could be haha.

An obvious question but, what did you expect to see? If you are using a cartography mod, you'll only see anything different when you look at the map or mini-map.
If the map doesn't look different, i dunno what ta tell ya. (except that you should be in package mode)

I've used the cartography mod before so I do know what to expect, the mini map and the big map all look the same with the clouds and everything.

Have you tried to temporarily turnoff your virus software then start texmod? We had to do that for a friend to get it to work for them.
Puebert
^Just tried it, nothing different.
