Quick Q about KSmod
William the Only
I have KSmod, and have been using it for the past year. I am not currently banned... does this mean that if I continue to use it I may be banned or not? Because theres nothing illegal about it... right?

I use texmod and after hearing some people have been banned and that's all they used it has made me afraid to use it in fear of being banned for a false positive.
Best bet would be not to use it till the subject matter is cleared up if you are worried about being banned.

I'm not sure about KSmod, but I know texmod is OK in its original form and I think Linsey said the same regarding KSmod.
Its when you get those little extra things in texmod/others that give you an unfair advantage over others that is against the EULA.

I've been using KSMod as well and I've not been banned.
This might help, the official response from Support about mods:
KSMod is likely detectable and detected - it relies on injection after all - but they chose not to take actions against users.

Quote:
Some players have said they believe that their account was terminated because they used certain third-party programs such as TexMod or Guild Wars Multi-Client. We do not action the accounts of people who use these programs because in their original form they do not give players an inherent gameplay advantage. That has been true in the past; that remains true today. But the accounts that were terminated were not using such programs. Either the players involved were knowingly using cheat programs, or they were using what they thought were benign programs that had been altered, turning them from acceptable to unacceptable. |

In one of the (many) other threads covering the recent banning spree, there is a screen shot of a chat with one of the ANet staff where she lists the mods that are allowed in their original download form. KSmod was on the list. Of course, if we had the option to show armours in high res in outposts, this wouldn't be an issue.....

Might sound a bit picky but they aren't 'allowed'. They are tolerated. A slight but important difference. Although Anet has positive stance on modding, it doesn't mean that they can't turn away from that policy, even retroactive.
