I'm having horific lags ever since the last update , and some friends of mine also experience similier problems.
Is this happening to anyone else?

a) In your head
or
b) your friends and yourself are in a similar region most likely close to each other and a faulty hookup on one of the hops along the way to the servers is causing the lag.
I'm actually lag free, 43 ~ 110ms pings with the average being 75ms, which isn't as great as when the game launched but it's still average with what I've had for the past year or so.

It always seems to happen immediately before updates and for a few days after.
The Apache Blade Server that's running GW in an ANet employee's mom's basement is probably groaning under the strain of so many simultaneous new build uploads/downloads.
It should pass. Don't bother contacting ANet because they'll just blame your ISP.
