Hi friends,
As some of you may have noticed, something called Thread Prefixes have been introduced in a couple areas of the forums (e.g. Guild Connections). After positive reviews, it makes sense to introduce this change to Ventari's. It removes clutter on the main page of the forums, but it also enhances the experience for most Ventari's users.
Before today users were required to have mutual exclusivity between a Sell forum and a High-End forum. While the organization aspect of this division made sense, it was still an inconvenience to many in practice, as people were required to maintain two threads if they wanted to sell items with low and higher values. The old Improper Listings violation (now removed!) was the most common one in Ventari's and was a pain in the butt for moderators and users, especially considering its significance was relatively minor.
Today we are introducing thread prefixes to Ventari's. As I'm sure many of you have already noticed, the High-End forum no longer exists! Instead, there is one Sell forum which still allows users to sort between low end and high end items. Please see subsequent posts in this thread for details on how to best use the prefix feature. We understand that some will not like this change, however the change is being implemented for the majority.
With this change comes the necessity to modify the Ventari's Guidelines. This entire section has been added to cover the rules governing prefixes:

All SELL threads must carry one of the following prefixes: High-End, Low-End, Mixed.High-End: Most items/packages in the thread are 100k+ in value.
Example: 15 High-End items, 5 Low-End items Low-End: Most items/packages in the thread are less than 100k in value.
Example: 15 Low-End items, 5 High-End items Mixed: There is a relatively even split of High-End and Low-End items/packages. This prefix is not to be used as substitute for being ignorant of the values of items.
Example: 12 High-End items, 8 Low-End items Users are responsible for keeping their thread prefixes up-to-date as items are sold. Failure to do so may result in being issued an Improper Prefix.
Users have the ability to edit thread prefixes and titles. You may have one thread open at any given time in Sell! People are encouraged to use descriptive and updated thread titles versus vague ones.
Good example: "WTS 1st Year Minis, Inscriptions, Req 9 Tormented Spear"
Bad example: "Bob's Sale Thread!" Moderators reserve the right to alter thread prefixes if necessary. To accommodate this major change, you will notice that other policies and procedures have undergone revision. Note that no other rules have been changed in functionality, or been added. There are still some new procedures users will have to adjust to, though.
Other Big Changes
- For better understanding, the Multiple Active Threads and Multiple Threads in 24 Hours have been combined into one section (Multiple Threads). How this rule is moderated will stay exactly the same.
Removed the "Improper Listing" (Policy 5) violation and changed it to a generic Thread Listings section. Since there is only one Sell section now, this rule need not apply!
Clarified procedures of what to do in the event you discover you've violated the rules.
Introduced a new procedure for closing threads. You should just change your thread prefix to Closed (applicable to all areas of Ventari's). You will not be penalized for using the old method, though we hope everyone adapts to the new one listed in the Guidelines (section 8).
Check out the Ventari's F.A.Q. for tips and tricks!
There are other small changes that have been made regarding procedures, attempting to clarify policies and organization of the rules. You should absolutely read the new version of the Guidelines in its entirety before posting again in Ventari's.
Strategy for Implementation
All new threads now require that you use a prefix. One month from today, any active threads created before today must carry the appropriate designation (in Sell). After a month has passed, threads may be subject to being issued an Improper Prefix warning. Many of you have active threads running in the former High End and Sell, which means you now have two active threads in Sell. You will not be issued a violation for this. However, we ask that you either:Contact a moderator and have them merge your threads. Close one of the threads Copy and paste the items from one thread into the other, and then close one of them. After a few weeks, if you have not made the changes, a moderator will simply close the older/less active thread.
