Rare = Limited in a current market.

Not to be confused with refuse that hasn't yet become Merchant fodder, the rare items of GuildWars are still around. Some are still traded, and few are left. I would like to talk about what few rare things are in fact left....
R8's, R7's, hammers, swords, axes, bows, shields, daggers.

I guess I'll start it off with a bit of info on my activity with my rarer stuff... My r7 cele sword 15% enchant that I sold was probably one of a few r7 cele weaps with max dmg and a max inherent. Anyone else seen any lately? It was the only max inherent one I have seen uncusto'd in years....

The r8 15^50 shinobi that I also no longer have. One of at most 3 shinobis in circulation known to me and a few others (the ones with them), and likely to be the last uncusto'd one... on an active account. Sad day letting that go. Anyone seen any in the last few months?

I'd also like to know if anyone else still has r8 15^50 Tetsubos hanging around just to see how many of them are left on active accounts. It looks like there's lots of Katanas left too. Anyone have a rough count on active r8 15^50 katanas through guru? I'm up to about 11...

Lastly, who the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO has an r8 15^50 shinobi??!?!?!?!?! I've only located 3 people, all of whom will not part with them. TELL ME YOUR NAME!!! I HAS ECTOS!!!!

Anyone else have any fascinating or enlightening stories about their rare stuff? Maybe some oddball items? Or did this thread just make it's way quickly to the junk pile? I just thought it might be interesting to have a thread to document movement of the "rarer" items in GW that aren't mini pets. Any hidden secrets out there?

Well Chris... I only remember that I used to trade req8 Katanas, Jitte, etc. for 100k+30-50e region a lot. With 15^50 and +5Energy. But think most of them are on inactive Accounts now. Or customized. Tom (Sirenia X) has a full set of req8 15^50 Canthans, so he should have a Shinobi. But I'm quite sure he won't sell. Also André (Mouria) has a req8 15^50 Shinobi if I remember right, but think it was custo'd. Kai² (Eir), could have one too... not so sure about that, maybe his is only 15/ench or so. Eir might have one of those Tetsubos, too.

Well, Ive been wondering what makes an item worth xxxxecto+arms or just xxx ecto. Because a while back i bought a few req 7s, and they were rare back in the day. Now i rarely see req 7 swords, the ones ive sold in the past few months are the only i have seen traded lately. But there prices are a measly 150ecto for a 14%^50 mod. Or my longsword which ive sold and rebought 3 times is 15% and is under 1,000 ecto. Just curious as to why these items, which now on active accts are nearly impossible to find, are so cheap, when some minipets could be found at any given time in Kamadan yet cost xxx arms.

Well... a Minipet is your long Penis running around you, while it's hard to show off a weapon, is it not?

Also I am of the opinion rare Weapons are very expensive atm, they used to be a lot cheaper in the past.

Teh bestest. It's all about demand. Mini's go to HoM; there-in is purpose. Q7's go to storage... No purpose. and Kai, what trading have you been doing lately? I've been out of the market for so long, I don't even know what some things are worth anymore yet everyone is asking for Pc's... I saddly am out of touch. And teh bestest, you've been around for long enough, you should know about supply and demand. If there is no demand, then the supply is too high no matter how low it is.

Edit: Some rare weapons are worth a lot, while some that are more rare now due to age are worth little. Ecto counts went up over time, so inflated currency means prices go up. But it only went up on a few things, and not everything...

True, and i guess with GW2 just around the corner Minipets are really in demand. I miss the old gw :P Standing on the stairs in LA, or ascalon id1. Back when a req 8 15^50 fellblade went for an entire storage of Plat.

That's true teh bestest... on the other hand I also remember times when I sold my req7 5nrg Dadao Sword for 450 or 500e (it's custo'd with Walles btw now). And that price was quite likely the best one could get at that time around with ectos being only 5k~ ea! Today it would be a lot more expensive, would it not?

I'd say it would be worth MUCH more, but finding a buyer would be a different story. With my Longsword, ive literally sold and bought it from the same three players in the past 2 years, lol. It just gets traded between us because no one else will buy it.

Nothing to great on my end. +5energy oni blade q8 and a 15^50 gothic sword I got them both for about 50e a peice when ectos were under 5k saw some going for over 100 recently. Let's see traded a gold q8 darkwing tactics foor 250e a while back but that's not really old.

For r7's Ive seen 3-4 Max inher r7 Celestials in last month

Celestial is byfar Most common Canthan r7 item..

Overall ive seen quite alot max r7's around
just few Canthan tho, know few Dadaos for sale atm and such

Only canthan r7 sword ive never seen is Oni blade..

For Tetsubos etc, ive seen 2 Uncustod Tetsubos in few months

and 3 Shinobis, dont know who has em now tho.

Thats cus u ask too much, if u would lower the price lets say, half im sure others would buy it also

Also I think there are more Canthan Swords I have never seen req7... Zodiac? Also never a gold Gothic Sword. And also this ugly black sword skin dropping in Echovald - I forgot the name, because it's some random shizzle

Wicked blade kai... None of those to my knowledge either.. Would have to ask Akh. And Pleikki, the 3 shinobis are the ones that i mentioned. No name dropping needed, but aside from us 3, we didn't think anyone else had any left. SireniaX has all Canthans, but everyone knows he doesn't sell nothing... Tried buying them overpriced each, and his whole set several times.

Well... good thing he doesn't sell, because I helped him finishing his collection and I would not like him to give it away

Edit: Yes, Wicked Blade it was. Pleikk told me ingame though that there apparently was a req7 15/st one for sale in late 2008 or early 2009 on guru... well, I don't remember this, so not sure if he's right.

I <3 Canthan Skins. Todes my sweetums I will tell you I had a white r7 max Gothic at some point I sold many years ago on auctions. If they can drop white can they not drop gold as well ? Hmmmm. Sometimes yes, sometimes no maybe ?

Well they maybe can... but do they? Ravaidan Jalir has req7 11stance blue Felly, I had blue and white req7 Magmas Shield, just for example, but I have never seen any of those in gold. Well, req7 +30HP Magmas in PC Section atm... but I am not sure if they guy who offered it to bestest wasn't fake. I couldn't talk to bestest so far and ask him, if he saw it

And yes, I have seen white req7 Gothic, too. Just said I've never seen a gold one

what I was told, Shield that perfect was from Factions or Proph could be worth xxxe-xxxxe. I don't think I seen perfect Magmas Shield with +30/-5(20%) or something like that. I have seen Magmas Shields over years with -2/-3 or -2/-2 that sold 300e+. Few months ago I did see -2/-3 req 12 Echovald going for 340e in high end.

i really cant be bothered to search them... no1 is paying anything serious for them... i mean it would take a stupid amount of ectos to part with them them... and no1 is giving it...

i tried too sell some a year ago or so... i got 60e offer for tets u really cant find... u can search for months... and ppl are paying like 600e for minipet like dhuum u can get every day and will be able to get till the end of game life... with all the inflation in the game prices for rare stuff have gone down and prices for even more usless stuff have gone up... minipets and tonics anyone?

I remember many moths back someone was selling a huge r8 Hammer collection. The only hammer I would consider buying is the Golden Maul. One you seem to have. Its a great skin and my favorite. Grats on it Jamal

Eric, that's the guy I bought my Tets off of. I almost bought the golden as well but me and Don came to an agreement over the dispute that ended good for us both.
