LOL!!! omg...that really made me laugh out loud. I'm pretty sure Eric thinks I'm crazy now, but that's ok One thing bugs me tho...
How did you know what I look like in the morning?!
I'm saving that version and telling him its the final
15 Nov 2010 at 20:01 - 93
I'm psychic! I SEE ALL!
And hey, it's getting late here, everything's making me giggle like crazy...

Omai that anatomy is so bad! His eyes should be way more divided from eachother and it only has 1 tooth! But on a more serious note Pery, its looking great ^^ One little point of critique is how you do the lips, but ofcourse that can just be a matter of taste But I never like dark outlines near the lips. It makes me think the has a tiny little mustache right about her lip xd For the rest its looking ossom :3
And from now on, I'm gonna run ctrl+f > alot before I submit a reply in your thread

that's a great idea! I hadn't thought of just practicing in greyscale to learn shading better.

A lot of concept artists do it, they draw things in greyscale first and then use different layer modes or colour adjustments to "colour" them (basically, this means just putting flat colours on top - the grayscale picture provides all the necessary shadows and highlights, so you don't need to do much detail in colour at all). For example, Kekai Kotaki, one of Guild War's concept artists, does most of his work in greyscale first (at least, that's the impression I've gotten from looking at his works). Julie Dillon is another one of my favourite artists who uses the method frequently as well.
It saves on time too, when all you have to do is think of greys at first.
@Tommy's: Bah, allright, I fixed the moustache. Couldn't stop seeing it now that you pointed it out.

Just wanted you to know, I love how the art tradey is turning out. There is so much detail in it, I looove how you are painting the hair for her, and frostkisses' piece looks so sweet, I actually like the greyscale of it! I'm just being lame and sick atm and too tired to comment much but I'm working and lurking in the shadows, oh and I will be drawing Rosey because she is such a lovely character. <3

Finished Frostkisses' commission:

Working in grayscale was very interesting. I like it, although I still gotta work on getting better at colouring them. Frost, let me know if there's anything you'd like changed, I can still tweak them a bit.
Also made a little signature brush, which I will be using from now on. :3

I love it Pery!!!! <3 <3 <3
Thanks a ton, can't wait to show it to my dervish
I'll be home from work in about..5hrs (short day today) so I could probably meet up with you today to get you your payment. Love it!
I'm not sure if its just me being me, since it is 3am..but her belly button seems larger than normal. It's not of huge concern, just seems a squeak long.
22 Nov 2010 at 10:18 - 102
Hm, the colouring made the bellybutton a little bit too long perhaps. I'll fix it.
And I might not be on in about 5 hours, got a meeting to go to in the evening. But... in 8 hours maybe? I'll try to get on then.
22 Nov 2010 at 13:39 - 103
Looks great Perynne! I also noticed that this one is more painting like than your usual stuff
22 Nov 2010 at 16:12 - 104
I should be around. If you get time to jump on just pm me. <3 thanks again I love it!
26 Nov 2010 at 18:43 - 105
For Tzu, as a thanks for drawing my Rosemary:
Edit: fixed the things Tommy's commmented on. :3
26 Nov 2010 at 18:54 - 106
Hadn't noticed your signature on the previous one. Girl, thats a classy one! Jealous already lol. And as for the drawing for Tzu, I think the black lines are a bit too much, since they arent their at the nose etc.
26 Nov 2010 at 19:05 - 107
Hm, good point about the nose. Will fix it. :3 Still, I was trying to not spend too long on it, since I tend to get too immersed with doing detail even if I'm trying to do a quick sketch. :P I definitely need to practice drawing faster.
Haha, glad you like my sig.
26 Nov 2010 at 22:22 - 108
Oooh the Frost gives me goosebumps ^^
Fimbulvetr looks so sweet, I especially like the mouth.
26 Nov 2010 at 22:24 - 109
Nice fast one, how long did it take?
26 Nov 2010 at 23:08 - 110
Posting here as well, thanks so much for Freyja!
Do you mind if I post it in my blog on the topic of my GW characters? I'll credit you, and put a link here later if you want.
26 Nov 2010 at 23:23 - 111
What the hell, either way I'm pretty sure I posted that question on Deviant instead of here...or I'm just too drunk to notice.
EDIT: No this belongs to this thread. Wow I am so drunk right now I can't think properly...
27 Nov 2010 at 01:12 - 112
That's so pretty! I especially love the flower.
27 Nov 2010 at 06:31 - 113
@Aeronwen: Thanks! Ooo, goosebumps... in a good way I hope.
@InfestedHydralisk: Uhhh.... don't drink and post! Not a good idea, might cause accidents. D: This took me about an hour, I think. Or would've, if I hadn't been interrupted by people talking all the time while I was drawing it. You weren't the only person drunk yesterday...
@Tzu: Sure, you can post it on your blog! I'd like a link too, so I can stalk you there. >:3
@Thistle Xandra: Thankies. <3

Frost's pic came out really nice - awesome work on that one. The only crit I have on Tzu's portrait is just the heavy black lines. Since they're so dark, they fight a bit with the delicate colors of her face. If you end up using this method on another piece in the future, maybe use a color that's more related to the subject's overall color. This can really make for some beautiful line work while also keeping everything nice and delicate.
Ex: instead of black, maybe use a darker skin tone or shade of blue in relation to her hair or skin.
28 Nov 2010 at 07:52 - 115
Ah, thanks for the tip. Back when I drew only manga-related drawings, I sometimes coloured the lineart to match the skin tone. But after that haven't really thought about using it again. I'll keep it in mind the next time I make one with a visible lineart.

*shakes off post-Wintersday coma and gets back to drawing*
Dash's assassin:
Now to get the lineart for the art-trade with Ravenhawk scanned in so I can start working on that. :3

Very nice Perynne! I love the rendering, especially the hair!
