Okay so, I recorded a video of the Gater in SoOSC. Thing is, when I watched it back it was as if it was going frame by frame and was horrible to watch

I use Camtasia to record and record GW in windowed mode (the resolution is something like 1150x790 (not exact numbers) Then afterwards I change it to youtubes settings. I tried changing the framerate in the recorders options to 60 from automatic. This hardly changed anything. I would love my videos to end up looking like BogusDudes videos in both widescreen and high def, but first I need to get them recording smoothly.

I've had next to no lag whatsoever over the past 2 weeks, soI doubt it's my internet thats affecting it. I just don't know whats wrong =/

camtasia isn't really good for this kind of recording. you're better off using fraps.

Damn, alright then i'll try fraps again. The reason I wanted to try another screen recorder was because of the massive raw files you get from fraps when you stop the recording.

Well i'll give it a go. Thanks for the help

Sam; you could always use xFire to record your video with. It saves your video to the HD as an AVI which can get big, but you can use several different tools on it from there. Fraps has some nasty limits.
