I imagine this has been asked but search hath failed me.

I'm back in GW after about a two or three year hiatus. I lost track. Anyway, in my past GW stint, I did almost everything someone could do, but I didn't make a Prophecies character.

Well I decided to try that. I did a thorough gutting of Presearing and it's not really been worth it. I like the lore, sure, but I've got a life to live, lol. So here's my question:

If I get this new character, a monk that I like, (now level 6) to Lion's Arch and ship over to Kamadan to level up and get some heroes, then come back to Prophecies at a higher level so I can trounce all the quests for free skills and get attuned for my attribute point, will I be missing anything from thereafter?

as long as you follow the mission line and everything, you won't be missing anything content-wise. oly thing you will be missing is the mild challenge of playing the game at lower lvls with just henchmen ;-)

Nope, it might be mind-numbingly easy - but you won't miss any content. assuming ofc that you took the monk from pre to LA the normal way.

if you got a run or its a non-native character then yes you will miss some things. a lot of this can be caught up by backtracking though the zones though.

In a sense you may lose out on the questing content in proph though, as you'll have little need to do low level quests with small rewards.

as well... you wont be able to get to Spamadan until you are level 10.. thats a requirement for all cross-continent travelling. but no you wont lose anything from prophecies.. it will just sit there until you come back to it to continue on.. When you get to LA you will need to do this quest:

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Sunspears_in_Kryta gained from Lionguard Figo in LA. You cant get to Nightfall with a propheciesl character otherwise.

Personally I think you should just restart your character in whatever other chapter you like.

You are going to miss those last 15 points for a long long time if you stick with it.

Yeah, well, you can still do everything but prophecies wasn't designed for level 20 characters + heroes, and it will impact gameplay when you roll through without any difficulties. It's just not fun to be so strong early on.

Maybe get the heroes from Kamadan, those form EotN are L20 and way OP, but even those will make it too easy - as they'd usually be of higher level and better equiped as the henchies - or even PuG players.

But the OP's whole point of creating a Prophecies character was to experience something s/he's never done before.

True, while any character can do all the missions, they miss a good portion of the quests that tie everything together.

As for those attribute points, while one may not be able to run the most super-duper tip-top effective build, or one with strict timings/values, the missions really aren't that difficult (in NM) until after you ascend and get the points.

I tend to like the way Prophecies characters look, and will often create characters there. Depending on my mood, sometimes I get them run to LA, other times I play through, but usually do exactly what the OP is considering -- level up my Ascalonians in foreign lands, grab some heroes, then hop back to blow through and get my attribute points. I mean, when you consider that, depending on runes and spread, sometimes a few attribute points are wasted anyway, those last 15 points really aren't all that crucial for normal play.

I don't see the lvl10 req for the quest, i'm quite sure it's for eotn only. And actually, you can get to nf passing by kaineng and doing the sunspears in cantha quest (usually way easier for a low lvl char without heroes)-

I had two points in making a prophecies character. To try* something new, and because male monks look pretty ape-ish in every other campaign. Being why at this juncture, I'll just keep him.

*Tried it, did not dig it.

Now, mind you all I'm no nublet. I've simply never given a new Prophecies character a good solid shot. I am aware of how Weh no su and all that other stuff works, as well as Ascension since I took my decked elementalist through it for grins despite his NF origin.

It doesn't seem to me that I'll really be that hosed from that last attribute point as I can quickly level up to 20 in Nightfall, come back with heroes and intentionally OP the content down like a snowblower to get my last attribute point. I'll worry about "having fun" or "being challenged" once I'm 20. I'm an endgame type of player.

Nope there are no requirements for doing sunspears quests.. any level can do it... I have quite a few times....

The heroes u get outside Spamadam (Koss etc,.. will be lvl 15).. then get a taxi to docks to get olias quest which starts in lions.. he will be level 15 too.... will make early missions in prophecies stupidly easy (and maybe a bit boring)

As for original question.. as long as you follow story line from start and get all side quests.. you shouldnt miss anything..

Some quests that dont appear important at 1st will lead you to missions so perhaps wiki your way through so u dont miss route
