hey all ^^ i've just been wondering since the whole "OMG look how many bans there is :O" thing, doing things like ferrying characters to consulate docks, and continents and getting to the CTC before you're meant to in EN if they're all fine with Anet and stuff. sorry if it's a really silly question but i want to make sure it's fine before i run an account to CTC for stuff during a free trial?

yes, you will be fine. these are all more of known bugs that aren't a big deal than they are bannable exploits.

Consulate and continent ferrying have been here for ages: anet knows about it and could have easily fixed it if they wanted to - if they didn't, it probably means they are ok with it (and surely won't ban anybody for this, since almost every player, at least once, have used it). Getting to ctc before you are supposed to (by the storyline) isn't even a bug (in fact, when joining, you will be told that you are about to experience content which you will get no credit for because you are doing it too early so it's supposed to be possible to do), so no problem there at all.

ArenaNet does not ban people for running or providing shortcuts, they just eventually find a way to make it much harder, e.g. Droks runs, speedclears, 600/smite, etc. Then, sometimes, the player base finds a way around the fix and the circle is completed.

Considering the hours the Live Team puts in working on GW, I wouldn't call them lazy. And, coming from people who most likely give 6 hrs to school or 8 hrs to work, it sounds idiotic.

Taxi service doesnt really affect the game - consulate docks for eg for armor or going to diff campaign. If a person gets CtC early then they still have to do all primaries to finish eotn so again not a real problem.
Most taxis have a clause - the player using the service only gets outposts and towns and nothing towards cartographer title.
Even if you jumped prophs to Thk and got to ring of fire you still have to go back and do each mission etc for the titles or even get your attribute quests if prophs by doing the missions and quests.
So in a way anet doesnt mind too much as players are doing this by choice and penalising themselves rather than anet setting up fixes - whats worse ... anet nerfed me getting max armor rant rave or players going ... oh crap i got a run here an lvl`d to 20 and i have to do whole of istan with bounties in only keys i can take and im only r1 sunspear and i need rank 5 for attribute points.
Anet wont get moaned at where player kicks himself for having more work to do lol.
Anet wont ban you for being taxi`d or if they did the only ppl on gw without a ban would be anet staff as almost everyone who`s played has either been a taxi or used 1.

Ferrying is playing the game in a way which is not intended. There is no limtation on when they can ban you for cheating. If you cheat today they can ban you tommorrow.

My advice is there is no reason to think ferrying is safe and there is an argument to be made that it is taking advantage of an exploit.

If they want to ban you for it they could. They might not being doing it now but they didn't ban a lot of /resign match fixers for a long time, that doesn't mean it's safe.

So if you want to be absolutely certain your account is safe, don't do it or email support. If you contact support and ask them if it is OK, they can give you a definitive answer.
