As many old players are aware, in order to create new colors you used to Mix different colors to create a new vial of dye that could be applied to armor, weapons and bags.
In addition when Anet updated the old dye to new dye, the former equivalent to Gray Dye - Dye remover - was changed.
Lastly, there have been a few dyes that I just don't know the reason for their looks, Perhaps someone here could explain it to me.
Here are some examples for those who aren't familiar with what I'm talking about...
Pink Dye
Teal Dye
Bright Oranage, Gold, and Lime Green Dye
Darker Gold Dye
Both Dye Remover converted to Gray Dye
Now those are all pretty standard, this next one may be too.. but regardless I've never heard how it's done or why it's like the way it is. Hopefully someone can fill me in..
I've also seen a Blue Dye that looked Black. I dunno why this is ¯\(º_o)/¯
Anyway, for some reason I always liked collecting old dye, so I made what i thought was a pretty thorough collection. I would like to see if anyone else bothered holding onto this kinda stuff.
Mixed Dye, Dye Remover, Other
Jinkies
Cleavage
I have seen many people with the Grey Dye that appears Red (former dye remover) trying to scam people trying to get 500e - 1750e. Someone used to be belligerent about trying to trade his dye for Ghostly or Vizu. I told him the merchant would pay him more than what id offer.
The last screenshot is very interesting and it would be nice to see an answer and possibly other screenshots if someone has them still. I do have a theory thou. It may have been dye remover mixed with just 1 single dye. In your case it would be dye remover plus 1 yellow to make a neon yellow. Instead of saying mixed or grey it identified is as the 1 dye used as its name and used the graphic as the default of the dye remover. Mixed dye must have kept its unique color because it took multiple dyes together.

mixing dye remover into a dye resulted in "vial of dye, mixed"
interestingly mixing a dye into a dye remover resulted in a bottle shaped like dye remover but labeled as mixed dye
