Monk low set

Hey, so im kinda new to PvP monking and have recently been equiping my PvE monk rdy for PvP. So with the new buffs to esurge and the such like I kinda feel its about time to buy a lowset. Stupid question... i understand the best thing to take is a martial weapon with brains over brawn for the mainhand, but whats the best thing for the offhand. I've kinda heard about +3e insc offhands but where on earth do u get these? does anyone have 1 for sale? and if they dont exist what should i use?

Shield set is better in general for your offhand.

Ty I was just wondering if the +3 insc offhand exists? but i get that shield is better with lowset mainhand for anti spike. Ty for the info tho

Any one of the green foci with fan skins will result in having -2 energy from that slot.

The base energy from a focus item is reduced to +6 (although armor and/or health granting upgrade components are unaffected) if the focus item was either: any randomly generated drop (+6 to +12 base energy), or if it is a +12 energy focus item that is not randomly generated (for example, it is a collector focus item, unique, or PvP Equipment). You will gain only +3 energy if that focus item was not a randomly generated drop and was below +12 base energy.

The green fans come with +12 energy, so the +3 energy doesnt apply.

the fans give a net +1, which i guess is better than +3

but the +3 focuses are nonmax green weapons.

Was this changed recently or something? Max green foci definitely provided +3 energy when the req was not met in a thread that was posted in Q&A a couple of weeks ago.

i use a spear with a 15%-5e inscription and shield for low energy. seems to work fairly well.

I assume that this is the thread of which lemming speaks - and I assume that this is the specific post relevant to the discussion.

While I'm in a linky mood, this is a link for an example of the +3 offhand that the OP mentions at the end of the post.

Usually my defensive set is also my low energy set, spear with +15/-5 and shield.
