I know this isn't the supported site for the game but I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issue.

I created a new account yesterday(GW: Trilogy) and played a couple of hours and logged out.

Today, I go to log in and I can't. I only created one character, I know my email address is correct and I have tried all variants of my passwords that I tend to use.

I have attempted to reset my password twice and neither password will do. I have attempted to create an account at NC Softs website thinking maybe there was a step I missed.

I have used their web support but have as yet to get anything beyond a automatic email reply suggesting FAQs to read. I'm very frustrated with this. I'm assuming at this point I must have locked my account out of actually ever being able to log in since I must have attempted too many times. Each attempt I make to log in the "Connecting" box shows up and hangs there for like 5 minutes.

Anyone have any advice? I have been messing with this for like an hour now...

You need to enter the name of your character in the provided box. You don't have to do this first time as you don't have a character to enter.

But as soon as you create your first toon his/her name will need to be entered into the login screen.

If you are sure your e-mail is correct and your password has been reset then this can be the only other thing blocking it.

Did you take any screen shots? The name of your character may be on there.



I can also help to provide the following information when sending account-based tickets to NCsoft:

-- What are all the retail access keys currently registered to your Guild Wars game account? (Please include the retail access keys from each campaign.)

-- What are the last 4 digits of the credit/debit card used to make any Guild Wars purchases online from us? (if applicable)
Be sure that you are sending this information to them directly though, I'd suggect using their support ticket system for extra security.

I'm having similar problems but i simply forgt my char name.. i have emailed support days ago.. whats the lead time on support?

They are normally reasonably fast with tickets - It depends on the nature/severity of the problem though. Don't be put off it you receive an automatic reply, this is standard.

A few things may go against your favour currently though:

* Support seems to have recently gone down
* They are currently very busy with the recent bans
* It's the weekend

How long ago did you send off your ticket?

Well, one thing I didn't consider was the last name of the character I was listing. I will try that again some more. What a PITA...

Weekend most likely then. Afaik they only have a ghost staff on weekends.

Hi

I have downloaded and installed GW trial to try it out.

I have created a GW account [email protected] I have a Master Account XXXXXXXXXXXX. After logging in for the 1st time I was prompted to create a new character, which I did. The character name is XXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX. After the character was created I had to download a campaign. The campaign was about 50% complete so I went to sleep. After I awoke I noticed that it said that connection was lost.

I then tried to log in in order to resume or start the download from scratch. This is where my problem comes in. I cannot log into the game. I have reset my Master Account as well as my GW account more than once. I am able to log into my Master Account and I am able to reset my GW Account as I do get email confirmation to confirm that this has been done. I have ensured to correctly enter the credentials as required (including my Character's name).

I have also verified my email address on my Master Account.

I still get an error code 227.

Please asssit ASAP. Support has not offered feedback in more than 24 hours. Thanks.

As mentioned above - it's the weekend and support is inundated atm. Patience is needed.

Rule of thumb here for NCsoft support is that it takes at least 1-2 business days to get a reply. They have limited support during the weekend, so don't expect a reply during it.

If it's a character name, they respond relatively quickly, but account recovery/password reset can take a few days to a week if even one of your provided account details don't match.

Also, if they ask for your GW access keys, get a digital camera/cellphone and take clear pictures of the access key card and attach it to the ticket, you'll get your ticket resolved much more quickly.

If you turned in a ticket late friday, expect a reply around the afternoon on monday. If you turned in a ticket on saturday or sunday, you might have to wait until tuesday and maybe late monday if you're lucky, since they'll have a backlog of tickets.

Well, I finally got logged back in after trial and error of user names. And once I was logged in I got an email with my info about 30 minutes later...LOL. Better late than never huh?

My bad, I am such a fruitcake! Support "EVENTUALLY" responded to my query. I was at fault as I made a typo when I initially created my character and obviously did not check the spelling before he had been created. I continuously tried to log in with the character name it had to have been. I feel silly!
