Can't find any more quests

Hi all. This is my very first MMOR whatever-it-is. I'm an old lady and have discovered that I like to leisurely progress through the game finding quests and missions as I go. I am currently level 19 and I'm in Aurora Glade. I tried that mission (the rune pedestals one) but keep failing. So I want to work my way up to it. I have completed Gates of Kryta, D'Alessio Seaboard, Divinity Coast, The Wilds, Bloodstone Fen plus of course all the ones east of the mountains.

The only quest I have is Galrath's Villiany but I keep failing at that one and I hate it. I've read that you are supposed to go to Temple of Ages but I can't find it. I've followed people's instructions but always get killed and lost. Maybe someone can point me to a map with the dots on it?

Are there some other quests that I can find? Should I just go wandering about the countryside killing things and hoping to run across another quest or ouppost? Where do I go from here? Thanks!

You should be doing the Aurora Glade mission. If it's too difficult, try asking your guild members for assistance. Getting the pedestals done is really hard if you don't know what you're doing and are the only human.

You need to finish Aurora Glade. Bring a skill that can knock down and cripple the enemy runner. The easiest strategy is to just park yourself centrally and just repeated kill all the enemies until no one is left to run a crystal.

wiki.guildwars.com is an excellent source to find out how to get through specific missions, quests, or areas if you hit a dead end and don't know where to go.

You can find an excellent outline of the primary missions and quests you need to go through for the prophecies campaign here. The quest articles tell you where you can take the quests and who offers them. Good luck to you on your travels through the game. ;-)

It could also be possible that you could find a runner to the Sanctum Cay mission, allowing you to skip over the Aurora Glade mission, but that would end up making you miss out on part of the story, and i don't know if you would want to do that. Persevere. Don't be afraid to ask others for help ;-).

As others have already said. Check out Guild Wars Wiki if you are stuck, also if you haven't already joined a guild do so. Most active guilds are more than willing to help members whenever they can. If your looking for a guild many guilds Recruit in the guild Recruitment forums.

Well, first things first: if it's quests you want, here's a nice list of all prophecies quests: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...phecies_quests

As for getting further... Aurora glade is a mission that will give you some trouble if playing alone, with nothing but henchmen (IE, without even heroes). I'd say there are two ways to deal with the situation:

1) ignore the mission. In Prophecies, you can simply walk to the next mission outpost and you'll be able to continue. It is a bit of surrender, but then, why keep trying to do something hard if you don't want to. Mind you, waling to next mission area may not be as easy as it sounds...

2) keep at the mission. If you are playing solo, there's only one way I can see doing the mission: park the henchmen at one of the shrines and hope they can deal with the incoming mantle, while you just make sure that two portals are kept captured. Just keep running crystals, recapturing the portals as the mantle cap them. There are limited numbers of enemies - you CAN kill them all.

As for Villainy of Galrath: whoever came up with that quest needs to do some penance. Unless you really really REALLY want to get it, don't bother. If you DO want to do it, follow the map markers until you get to black curtain, and seek the temple of ages there. It's on the north-western edge of the map. Enter there, get more (and better) henchmen, and then continue with hunting Galrath. And once you get to Kessex peak where Galrath is, be very very careful pulling, since the Cult of Verata is a killer.

Try to reach from Ventari's Refuge the Henge of Denravi (outpost) via Ettin's Back -> Dry Top -> Tangle Root. It's quite a long path if you have only henchmen, but when you reach the Henge you'll have the "Passage through the dark river" quest, that will lead you to Riverside Province (outpost + mission).
In Tangle Root there s'another outpost to the south (Maguuma stade) where you may buy a couple of skills.
Check the wiki for any question, it's the best resource for any player.

This, as you don't seem to be one who wants to skip something. The important thing is at least one is always captured, so that you don't fail, and as soon they capture the other one (don't consider the far one) and they go away put the crystal on. This way they should always try to recapture that (the one on the left) so if you flagged your henchies there they should be able to kill them after some time. Maybe bring a running skill to make it safer, and help your party when you see them in trouble, as long as the portals are captured.
When I had this mission to do I didn't understand well this tactic by reading it, and this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-FZgJY6bKQ helped me a lot...I hope it can help you as well.
Have a good game, I love the way you're playing, it makes everything feel more like exploration, but sometimes guides really help a lot.

Reyna,

that mission is tough on your own with just hench. The advice from Mintha and Suris will work.

But also just put some time in to checking out yopur runes and insignis - every little helps.

For missions and quests, it really helps to read tips and hints on its GW wiki page.
Recommended strategies there usually work real good.

Hi RaynaA. I'm pretty new myself..... Galrath's Villiany is difficult to do simply due to the mobs you have to get thru to get there. Save it and do it later (but BEFORE you finish the last mission).

Aurora Glade turned out to be one of the more fun missions. I have completed it twice with just henchmen.

When you first pass the gate into the area with the three pedestals to attune, standing at the thorn pedestal that gives you crystals, there is a pedestal right by you on the right, one pedestal further away to the left you can see, and there is one far away to the right. Ignore the one that is far away to the right.

Grab a crystal and run to the close pedestal to the right and attune it. Grab another crystal and run to the one to the left and attune it. Flag your henchmen just in front of the platform. Now you are running solo while your henchmen guard that left pedestal. They won't kill the runner, so you have to keep running crystals either to the close right or left pedestal depending on which the other runner attunes. Eventually your henchmen will kill all of the other party except for the runner (you might have to help them with a kill or two after you attune the left pedestal, but don't stay to long, you job is to keep the crystals coming). Once you are down to just the runner, kill him. Now the pressure is off. Go kill the mob for the bonus, and then attune the last pedestal.

I have seen the opposing group kill my henchmen... It can happen, which is why I tend to stick around and help them a little here and there, just not for too long.

btw - if you kill the runner before defeating all the opposing team, he'll just respawn and bring more help... so do him last.

Some excellent tips here. I am not part of a guild and generally play with henchman and/or my son who is a casual player but will deign to help out his poor mom sometimes! I don't want to miss out on Galrath so I will probably seek out a guild for help. And thanks for the direction to wiki. Good to know! Hope to see some of you in the game!

You can do Galrath's Villiany with henchies, just do it when you hit 20. Once you get to Droknars Forge, you can buy max armor, which is always a help. Flag your henchmen a lot and pull everything to them. I didn't see your profession, but it helps if you have rebirth or some other rez skill on your pri or sec. Its very frustrating to get to the last mobs and not be able to finish cause your team is dead and you cant revive them. Been there You should also check to see which gives you higher henchies, Bergen Hot Springs or Divinity Coast... I dont remember.

oops... got a better starting place... find and start Galrath quest from the Temple of Ages... the henchies are lvl 15 there and you get all of them for a party of 8. I waited until I had one mission left and ran did GV. Just to make it fun, once my party and I got there and cleared all but Galrath, I flagged my henchies out of range and my pet and I solo'ed Galrath..... was great fun. There is another quest in ToA that wants you to go get a text. Do that one first, then just continue on south from there... much easier route.

Thanks again to all for the advice. Using the hints here I was able to do Aurora Glade with just the henchmen. I'm now lvl 20 (ranger with a dire Melandru Stalker) and I finally made it to the Temple of Ages. I've done dunes of Despair but keep failing at the one where you have to find the 3 crystal pieces and bring them to the ghosts. Like I said I just meander around and take my time and have fun. No hurries. When I finish this game I will just have to buy another one and I really hate spending money!

I recommend posting on this forum to look for a guild. Check the appropriate section for that. I think you would fit right into my guild, since we're all adults, most with kids.

The wiki gives a great explanation on how to do Aurora Glade with just henchmen. Great job on finishing that mission, it was tough until I read the wiki. Crystal Desert missions are tough in terms of objectives. Good luck!

Hi RaynaA,

First of welcome, from the posts you have made you are doing ok at present,

I would suggest having a look around the web sites for adding the other 2 campaigns and the expansion Eye of north.

They are so cheap at the present time to purchase you can buy

complete collections ie ones that include the other campaigns on 1 cd.

As you are in the desert area have a look for the collectors they will offer you maximum armour for collecting items in the desert areas.

As the campaign you are in does not offer a large pool of gold so that way you can obtain your armour for little or no cost since you like to look around the areas.

The mission you are referring to, is Elona Reach. That mission like most missions in the desert can be hard especially with only henchmen. Having a full team of heroes helps quite a bit. If you get tired of trying elona reach, there's a third mission, Thirsty River that you can do, since you will need all three in order to do your ascension and they can be done in no particular order, it will give you a break from elona reach.

On your way to thirsty river, you will go through an outpost (destiny's gorge), remember that there's a very valuable quest there after you complete your ascension. There will also be quests in each of the three desert outpost that will allow you to change your secondary profession after you do them. Quests and outposts in prophecies are easy to miss compared to the other games, so you might want to explore a bit in the desert if you don't have 3 outposts, the 3 missions, augury rock and amnoon oasis.

I avoided anything that would spoil the story, since it's your first time through prophecies. If you consult the wiki, be wary of spoilers.

WooHoo! Thanks to you guys I just finished Galrath's Villiany! Soooo much easier when you go from Temple of Ages. My armor is all AC 61 right now with assorted runes etc. Is there better armor to be had in the Crystal Desert? If so I will be out hunting before I continue on with the Ascension missions.

The collectors' armor in the desert is max (70 for your ranger), but the armor bought from Kathir in the Amnoon Oasis is the same as you already have - 61.

The first armorers to offer maximum AL armor are Morgren and Seifred in Droknar's Forge in the Southern Shiverpeaks - but it will be a while until you get there (a lot of running around to do in the desert!)

It makes sense to grab the collectors' armor while you're in the desert, just keep an eye open for the various collectibles. Also, make sure you go for the mask that suits your play style as they add to either your Marksmanship, Expertise, Wilderness Survival or Beast Mastery attribute.
