Which runes to put?

Hey I am very confused about runes... Okay so I have a lvl 20 warrior and I just got full elite kurzick armor which I am very happy about. I have no idea what runes to put on it though..

I want to be a beast. I would like to have pretty high hp and I use axes most of the time. I hate that I have to put an axe mastery or sword mastery, ect on such an expensive pieces of armor...

What if someone wants me to run a build that uses a sword?? I won't know what to do.

So basically I'm asking for some advice on what to do. If someone could really help me telling me exactly what to put on each piece of armor would really help! Thanks a lot!

Note: Armor is better than health for several reasons.

Weapon mastery runes should go on the helmet.

u can have different helms with different weapons runes. that way u can swap ur help for different builds and not swap ur whole armor set. i would use a vigor rune, strength rune, vitae runes, and survivor insignias for high health.

always put the best +AR vs Runes, on the Chest & the Plate legs. the chest and legs have a greater chance of getting hit if i remember from reading on wiki 1 day. believe it was,
chest 3/5
legs 3/5 or 2/5
helm,gloves & boots 1/5
chances to be hit.
could be wrong was quite awhile back when i read it. hope it helps.

I use Sentinel on chest & legs and Radiant on the rest. I have an axe rune on my helmet as I normally run axe builds. I have spare helmets set up for sword and hammer. I have a superior vigor, a minor strength, a superior absorption, and a clarity.

This is for PvE, as I do not use my warrior in PvP.

Have a duplicate piece, on one you put a sword mastery rune and on the other with a axe mastery rune. When switching builds you can equip the appropriate piece.

Hoo boy - welcome to the complex world of warrior runing.

I have hats for all occasions - minor axe, sword and hammer hats, superior tactics hats, maybe a sup strength (can't remember if there's a 16 str build anywhere ^_^) and a plethora of gloves and bootees with different minors for different occasions, variations on stonefists and whatnot. Make sure you put (for example) an axe rune on a +axe hat or a sword rune on a +sword hat - I've ended up with a hat that's +1 sword +1 tactics several times...

Just look at the requirements for the many different farming builds for warriors - a hat for every occasion!

At least we don't need 55 gear and 600/starter AL gear like those weird monks and necromancers

Do what Eragon said, thats what I do, I'm mostly a Curses Necro but have a Blood magic headpiece in storage for when guildies want a Blood magic one.

Also you can remove sword/axe etc. runes from your armour with a *perfect salvage kit if you want, which means it won't break. But as said above, best to have a couple of headpieces that you can change to instead.

*Not superior, Perfect, just wanna be clear on this and not have you break your armour

OK, first things first: runes that take health away are right out of the question. They work on casters who stay away from harm's way, but not for a warrior who is meant to be in the thick of it.

Second, it's always a question whether to go for armor or health boosts. It really depends on the situation.

Armor will reduce the amount of incoming damage. If the situation will have you face large amounts of damage that come in, this will be a good solution - +10 armor will reduce 400+ damage spells much more than the bonus you'd get in HP.

However, there are three situations where +health will be better. First, you get armor ignoring damage too, and why HP is better than armor in such a situation should be obvious. Second, you may already have significan armor boosts available, for example "Save yourselves!" or ward skills. If you do, additional armor can be overkill. Last situation is when you face high death penalty. When DP starts to get really bad, every bonus HP is important as it gives the healers more time to heal you before you die.

Me, I go for HP bonuses, usually.

And a fourth situation - where you are getting a lot of health loss from degen - bleeding, poison, hexes, etc. - extra armor won't help combat degen.

Btw - about runes and helmets. What I do is to have my main "build" set up on my "fancy" headpiece that I normally wear. In the OP's case, an Axe Mastery rune on an Axe Mastery +1 or Attribute +1 headpiece.
Then, for other occasions, such as a switch to sword, I would have another headpiece with Sword Mastery and SM+1 or Attrib+1. The "other" headpiece(s) doesn't need to be expensive - you can set it in the Inventory ("I") window to not be displayed, so it doesn't ruin the look of your main armor.

You can also find a cheap one that matches with your armor if you want to display your headpiece.

Thank you all for your help! I want to be strong as hell so, I am going to use a few health runes, and a few armor boost runes, and one minor axe mastery rune to the helmet.

Now what about insignias? Can you have ONE rune and ONE insignia equipped to each piece of armor? Thanks..

Yes. Each piece can have one insignia and one rune.

health wouldn't matter if you had bonds on you to add more health to your character.
i'd go with more armors. even though bonds can protect you aswell. it's mostly a 75/25 to go with + Ar than Hp, imo, gl though.

aslo, i carry diffrent sets of armor, ea set with Axe,Sword,Hammer,Str & Tacts.

Just like to point something out. While this is true (with some edits)...

This is completely wrong. Yes, the +armor runes are more effective because you get hit 2 or 3 times as much, but thats why you get 2 or 3 times as much health or energy from Survivor and Radiant runes. All that matters is how much armor/health/energy you want. Having Brawlers on the feet, head, and arms (1/8 each) and Survivors on the chest and legs (5/8 total) is identical in every way to Brawlers on the chest and Survivor everywhere else.

Yes.

Warrior's shouldn't have bonds on them. The only exception would be an ER Ele with Prot Bond, but I don't know how well they handle them.
