I know this is an opinion thing, but still....
I need an extra character slot.
Is it worth deleting a 2 year old character for it? or buying another for $10?
Thanks in advanced.

Here's what I'd do in order:
1. If you have not got all games buy the extra campaign for +2.
2. If you have all games, get a new account for +4.
3. Transfer all things into storage then delete.
4. Buy a new slot.
Hope this helps, Jackie.

I'd recommend buying new character slots until you have 1 of each class (for PvE) and at least 1 PvP slot. If you really hate playing a specific class (or more than 1) than that reduces the number, but 11 is the 'safe' number to have 1 PvE character of each class and 1 PvP character.
But as noted above, additional campaigns add 2 slots, so buy the other titles for more classes, more storage, more skills, more PvE content, etc. and when you own all 4 titles, then buy the character slots. An extra account works, but I rarely use my second account as it is easier to do things all on one. Hero builds are easier by having skills unlocked, and unlocking skills for 10 classes is easier when you have those 10 classes to buy skills with. It also is a hassle to transfer items from one account to another unless you have 2 computers to run both accounts at the same time, or use the GWx2 program to run both on one computer.

Is it worth deleting a 2 year old character?
Depends. Do you use it a lot? Do you care about it? Is it a mule or does it actually see some action?
If you do care about just buy one for 10 bucks.

I've deleted without regret characters with fow armor, 26 max titles and 1-2 years old, but i know that other people wouldn't do such a thing, and i respect this. I don't know you so i can't decide if this would be worth for you . Maybe you should consider what reasons you have to keep that character: titles, nostalgia, being fun to play with it, etc.. The fact that it's two years old could mean something from the minipets and nostalgia point of view IMHO, so you could consider these two aspects.

depends on how much you intend to use the new character and how much you use the old character. if the old character is a lvl 7 in pre, then yeah delete it. if it is a lvl 20 character that has beaten everything and u still use it from time to time, buy a new slot.

What is your time worth? I buy slots. I get paid more than $10.00 every two years.

If you've got all the campaigns, I'd just buy a lot. It's $10. It's really a trivial amount of cash for most people.

If the only thing that makes you keep the old char is the fact it's 2 years old and may be getting some birthday presents then by all means delete it, it's not worth it. Even 4th year presents aren't worth keeping a char for, and for 5th it's debatable, but values of all of them drop faster than characters age.

That truly is an opinion thing, but my opinion would be that $10 is cheap enough that it covers the possibility that you may regret deleting a character later. Also, of course, the 2-year old character could be used as a storage mule with up to 65 storage slots (backpack, belt pouch, 2x10-slot bags and 20-slot equipment pack).
